What it says on the tin.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start a new custom game with a character other than Yaki male or female -> you will be able to use the space suit.

2. Start a new custom game with a Yaki male or female character -> you will be unable to use the space suit.

This is regardless of whether you actually set yourself up to spawn in the space suit. I'm assuming the lines calling for the space suit's files weren't added to the prebuilt characters, hence the game doesn't display the option to exit your spacecraft.

Also, one more thing - getting your ship blown up will kill you. There is no emergency eject.
