Soltower - Terran large self sufficient solar power plant

Post by hostergaard » Thu, 18. Jan 24, 14:06

A large self sufficient terran sollar tower. Its entirely self sufficient and just need an input of 4800 methane and 4320 ice.

Note that it was made to be placed in mercury and produce a surplus of rations and medical to sell to the other solar plants there. It currently have 96 solar panels but without changing anything other than adding more solar panels and living quarters you can add so it has 128. If you muck about and change the ratio of terran mre plants to medical ones you can probably go above 250 solar panels. I have not added any protection in form defensive measures yet since mercury is rather safe but might upload a file with it if I do. I am thinking at the top and bottom of the likely,

"Soltower. Tower of Sol. The suntower. Am imposing structure of spiraling solar panels, its sweeping wings guards the entrance to Mercury and cast a protective shade on all visitors. A huge construction meant to serve the increasingly ravenous energy needs of the terran protectorate as the economy started to revitalize it was build to produce enormous quantities of energy while also producing food and medical products for the solar stations already in the system. The architects wanted to respect typical Terran circular designs while also innovating and improving resulting in its iconic spiraling design along a central column allows for more panels to be added to the central pillar should there ever be a need. The massive column gives associations to the protective angels of early Terran religions with wings spread along it that inspires all that sees them and hints that should the central pillar prove insufficient, twins can be added under the protection its celestial wings. While most workers live in the shade and quiet of the lower part of the tower, the bustling life at the docks have created the perfect opportunity for colorful collections of shops to pop up selling exotic goods to locals bought in by traders and local trinkets to outside visitors. A constant chattering of voices, loud music and the thrum of heavy base follows any visitors to this middle section as the docs has also been a fertile breeding ground for a vast array of clubs and bars where crew members of ships and bored gather to dance, party and swap STD's in the rich "nightlife" of the docks. Further up comes the solar panels that gives the tower its riches where hard work and a deep, almost bordering to religious, respect for electrical currents can be found. No one wants to the next ashen outline on the wall from an exposed line so due care is taken. Then we reach the peak. Here celestial halos surrounds crown of the tower where the sun shines the brightest. Here you will find the finest tropical resort outside of planet earth, complete with huge pools with waves crashing on sandy beaches, ringed by restaurants and sports facilities, the residents of the tower of sol does not have to go far to have a vacation to rest and recover from the days work and indeed this tropical paradise attracts visitors from all over the sol system. At the apex of the peaks of the crown spearing up inside the halos and overlooking the tropical resorts is the offices and dwellings of the elite where deals are made and contracts signed that will shape the economic future of the sector if not the entire sol system and the Terran protectorate for decades afterwards. Here is the place to win or lose your future."
