[Bug?] Discovery points are awarded only for the first asteroid scanned

Hi,

I noticed that discovery points are only awarded for the first asteroid you scan in a sector. The rest award nothing. Is this intended?

Not all asteroids give discovery points. Perhaps that's what you've run into. You can see which ones give points by looking at their information before scanning.

Are discovery points given if they are scanned by AI-controlled player ships using the Scan Asteroids command?

I checked a bunch of asteroids and never saw anything in the description talking about discovery. Are they listing the nb of points they give or simply it's a new discovery?

they show the number of points they award. I just checked it and i had to look at 6 asteroids to find one that shows discovery points: ~1300 points for that one

I just tried it on auto with me in the ship and you do not get the discovery points. You will apparently have to do those manually. Fortunately you can click on each one in the sector map and see if they will give points so you could do those first then auto scan the others assuming you have them all mapped.

Is there a finite amount of Discovery Points in the universe? Not sure when to spend them but now I've explored everywhere and scanned a good chunk of the asteroids my income for points feels to be drying up pretty rapidly.

I've paid for one of the 250k rewards but beyond that I've hoarded them since, hoping for a special ship to show up in the rewards options. Think the second every Explorer reward I saw was for a "repair ship" that cost some exorbitant amount and I've never seen it since.

Once you have explorered everywhere, you points will start to slow down. But there will always be points to get as new discoveries are created

Currently discovery points are only collected manually, not via autopilot. The same is true for some of the ware crates which will be ignore by the collect wares command
