Plot glitch. Pirate Hunt Season. Chapter - Talk to 4 NPC.

Hello everyone.


Brief reading and googling made me register on forum. Which i did last time over 10 years ago.

Problem is:

After pirate station was harassed, and weapons disabled:

Now need to talk to 4 random NPC on 4 random stations.

And game generated only 3 random SCRIPTED npcs on 4 Marked stations.

How to fix this?

Made from $120M to $200M since that mission was long over-saved.

Any clue? Would it self-heal?


There is no clue and same problem mentioned on Steam Forum.

NPC mentioned is on the station (Trading one), but it is a regular one (aks shipyard/equipment), and it have no line for "where is scientist".

In the mean time - you are welcome to my Steam Screenshot library and YTB cast which shows the problem.

Brief solution thought - make NPC "travel" - so it will be deleted from the station, and then after 1-2-3 days - appear again (but on the same station).

That way - even if it was glitched once - it will be there OK next time, or next time after that, or next time after that next time.
You got it, right?

Also - that glitch is there in my game from begining - some time i see station Mission Marker - but there are no mission marker on any station NPC.
That is related somehow.

It looks like the Mission giver is being hidden behind another person with the same name

if you dont mind the modified tag, then this will be fixed in the unofficial patch.

otherwise, i believe the only option is to destroy the station.
the mission giver will be ejected into a space so you can communicate with them

I do have power to declare war on Paranid.

And spoiler is needed - do i need that staion?

And may i just hack it with diplomacy and "BAN" that visitor?


Unofficial is not what would be good for all players.


This bug occurs here and there, not only with PLOT, but with regular missions as well.

only destroying the station will give rid of them.

im assuming there are some mission (or mission states) that are not purging their own mission givers after the mission is finished, so they end up on the station permanently. The comms menu stores and removed duplicate names when displaying the list, which causes them to be hidden.

The station will eventually respawn, and if the plot needs specific stations and they are missing it will usually create a temporary one.

Reminds me of GTA IV starting missions CutSceene.

"I SAID HELLO!".

Remember this, when Noco Belic kick that Mechanic?

By the way, as it is more likelly that station would be devastated, - will it respawn as same, with all wares and benefits?

Will it be beter to INSTAGIB it or slow kook will be fine? Asking about reputation system affection.

Worryes - I want to keep minimal impact from Special Measures.
Also with ZERO external manipulations through code ETC, unless its official hotfix.


Also - Im an software Architect of CxO level. Count me in, should you need to make some management there.

OK - i did it.

I mean - got my balls into knukle and launched my 2 M6 against that TS.

Guess what - it is indestrictible.

Won't go below 13500000 HP (93%).


Any other options?

Constructive feedback is much appetiated.

Import my progress to a fresh savegame may be?


Stations do require clean-up mechanisms. And plot missions need re-start options as well.

I've made it "patch enabled".

Menu modification is working.
So should patch, right?

Yet - NPC are not leaving station. Quantity is growing over.

Or that bug was not fixed yet?

Or it only working with Non-steam Executable?

When in the main menu it should display the game version in bottom right. Make sure it says 1.3.8

If installed correctly, then you should just be able to comm the mission target to continue the mission.

The list of people on board will reduce over time, but this isn't instant

Should it also say it in Launcher?

Top-Right section above Settings?

Also - in 1.63 advanced mod manager it still says "looking for FL", while installing to TC directory. That is confusing.

Yes it should also say in the launcher screen.

FL is inside the TC directory. The plugin manager should show the directory as TC/addon2

Nope - both Steal launcher and Egosoft launcher say 1.3 on main game menu.

Patch was un-installed and re-installed with game "shut-down".

Make sure the directory in the plugin manager is correct and that you have selected the X3FL directory. As it'll add directories for all 3 games.

Also make sure you close the plugin manager before running the game.

If you have the game installed in program files, you may need to run the plugin manager with admin rights as Windows could be blocking write access

Allright - i had to manyally add FL (addon1 and addon2 actually) to Mod Manager selection.
