This issue is already known and solved. A few post back a download link was given to a slightly modified version of the V 2.7 mod:

As already stated, you may need to check the "Start with default values" check box in the X2 starting window the first time you start the mod.

ok one last thing. i got the mod working great. got a few factorys up. but the management is a pain with out the bonus script back. so is this mod compatable or will i just have to git my teeth and bear it?

I don't know for sure, but I think there's no problem using the bonus scripts. Top Gun comes with almost no scripts, and should be compatible with all script packages.

Yes, I believe it does work with the bonus package. TGM has something like 5 scripts does it not?

tested. it works with one oddity.

no place to buy ATC software. workaround. use a add ware command

Its ashame that Harlock is indefinately banned, he was very supportive to the community. 3.0 Will be awesome and should hopefully not have any of these bus in. I know Harlock right now is trying to finish building his computer.

Look at the forum rules: we're not allowed to discuss this.

He's banned - that's all we need to know (apart from the forum rules). But he hasn't left X2 modding - that's the most important point we need to know.

2.7 is done already - we even linked it in our forum :D
Somehow it's hard to believe, that 3.0 will be even better than 2.7! Those ships are ... they kick my ass off :lol:

Yes but, Harlock is a god. He beat Zeus with one hand tied behind his back.

3.0 will be less bugs and much more efficient ships. Still trying to persuade him to add a ship which uses mobile lasertowers though :P

Hi guys, I installed the mod as per the readme texts, but when the splash screen comes up and I choose the mod to be used, then play the game, the game won't even load, just comes up with an error. When I change the mod back to original, it runs fine. Do you think it could be because of the no-cd patch? My CD doesnt even read anymore its so old and scratched up so am using my backups, but obviously it wont work without the no-cd patch. Any ideas anyone?

Good 3.0 will work even better. By the way there is a small issue with colliding spp's which Chris Gi spotted. Harlock is fixing that in the next release.
