Holy CRAP!!!!!!!! You should have given up a LONG time before you wasted ALL THAT MONEY...

I really enjoy this game, but it's barely worth 50 bucks in my estimation...

Buying new hardware just to play a game is ALWAYS a mistake... not to mention, usually unnecessary.
lol what?? I think my dad might have trouble with his P133 if he decides he wants to play Star Wars Empire at War or something hehehe. What a silly thing to say. Better game capability is ALWAYS my motivation for new kit. If all I did was office apps and internet I would have stuck with my Athlon 600.

Mine just CTD again, can't even get through mission 1, beta 1.3 and all. Part of that is the medis upgrade. I don't get it, my system runs every other game but this one? What gives here?

No problems with my x850, maybe try getting the newest Catalyst. I think they're on 12?

Make sure you have .NET 1.1 installed, though...

have you tried the 1.31 beta patch, i know the save game might be incompatible later on, but its worth a shot just trying it out for your own sanity, also to know that a fix IS coming

1.31 beta has taken care of ALL my problems

PS, dont run any other scripts, i found those cause problems too right now... Not for everyone mind you, but in my case it did

It was moved because it was a post saying that you were returning the game, not a Tech Support question. If you still want to discuss your problem and find a solution then let me know and I will move it back.

Well, I tried that.

The response I got was that the problem was being caused by the Saitek joystick - Which I don't own.

After that I was promptly ignored.

And Yes, I would just LOVE to get this game running properly

(Especially after spending the entire month of January and over 800 bucks, and countless hours so far trying to do so)

However, time is running out.

If you have changed a load of hardware have you made sure all the old drivers are fully removed?

Try running a registry cleaner.

Wish I could offer more suggestions, but my game is running well

Better than that, I did complete reformat and reinstall of XP, SP2, all drivers, and bios

Yes, FEAR, Counterstrike Source, HL2, BIA-EIB, all run fine.

Prime 95 torture test for 8 hours checks out OK

Folding@home runs all day while I'm at work, no problems.

I hate to break it to you man, but it IS something with your machine. The game runs fine on most people's PCs. Throwing up your hands and badmouthing the game because your machine can't run it isn't constructive.

Did anyone from Egosoft tell you to spend $800 on hardware? Sorry, I don't buy that. Rather than troubleshoot, you threw money at the problem. Sorry it didn't work, but don't lay it at Egosoft's feet.

On a side note, I'm dropping $1000+ on a new gaming rig soon, I've just ordered an Athlon64 X2 processor and mobo, and 2GB of RAM. And I'm doing it because I WANT a better gaming rig.

-snip-
So let me get this right, the game runs fine IF I start a NEW Game OR Reload an older saved game, so, it's a problem with MY RIG?

Puhleeez.

Yeah, it is. Thousands of people are playing and enjoying this game every day. You are the exception. It sucks, and I hope you can figure out what is wrong, but it AIN'T "the game is written to not work on jpmcmahon's PC, hahaha!". And starting out a post ranting about how much money you spent and how you are returning the game is, as I've said, not constructive.
