Version 1.08 available :)

Russian language file added, thanks to ru4pt. This version also correct a few bugs ("yaki guild hq" giving missions, not all mobile bases displayed when asking a base for the location of the other, ..), it also sighly increase the points you'll earn for the destruction of ts, tp, and fighters, allowing to gain rank faster.

Found in 1.05 that the Yaki TL's still didn't have any armament except missles. Which means that the Flak-armed version you spoke of months back is avaialble in the Fusion mod??
This feature is only available in XFP mode as mobile bases can't use any weapons in the 'vanilla' game.
since each Yaki TL concentrates only on 2 races...would it be possible to have the identities of these 2 'announced' by ECS when the player comms each base? Otherwise, since race's identity isn't mentioned until after a player accepts a mission...creates rep problem.
If you're a guild member, the 2 races should be displayed like in this screenshot. The "Yaki Guild HQ" don't show any enemy as it stays idle in Ocracoke's Storm. It's only a rendez-vous point to know where the other bases are located.

I know the issues with the mission (no [refuse] button on briefing), it's on my to-do list :)
As I figure it, it's pretty much impossible to play a 100% pirate game with just YA. Thus, keeping a good rep with at least a few races (like Argon--jump-drives) for ship repairs, etc. is necessary.
Not yet :) But with both YA and PG installed, you'll already be able to find e.cells, weapons and shields in pirate bases. Making things easier.
Your work with YA is brilliant. Something the Devs in their wisdom should take note of, as the Yaki and Pirates are the last remaining content-development 'frontier' of X3...the 'wild west' of X3. Great work!

I just wanted to test the waters, see if it's possible to feature the fully-armed Yaki mobile base in DDRS, so as to be able to experience the 'full YA experience' in DDRS. So, is it possible? ..And if so, what needs to happen?

Full experience is a big word :p

If you replace the default pirate mobile station by a ship with weaponery it should work automatically. If it doesn't, it's a bug that need to be corrected.

serial kicked i want to tell ya that the script is great but im having some problems
so i did some assasination missions so i decided to do something else like the vip mission
problem is that in stead of the sectr names i get null
so i want to know if u could gimme a link with the fix to this problem

What version were you using ? Afaik, "null" text should only appear if you've accepted the mission from the Guild HQ, and 1.08 prevents it from giving missions. There's also a very low probability to get an erronous "null" debriefing mission text, when the mobile base has been destroyed at the same time you succeed in your mission.

I use this two Script and I have a impressive invasion of Yaki in "empire's edge"
an massive flow OF Yaki M5 + a mass destrution of M5 by M1 M2 M7 = no FPS at all :) :)

you can see that the M5 come off Stevio Shipyard and not off Yaki Armada Shipyard
maybe an indice the Yaki armada is call argon shipyard when i get in...

More seriously, thanks for the report, someone else reported me the same issue on the Fr board aswell. A bunch of ships who try to dock at a "null" mobile base, located in the "null" system. It only happens when 'vanilla' yaki ships begin to appear in the Yaki sector and when a mobile base has been destroyed before Yaki reinforcemens are arrived to their destination.

The bug is already corrected in the version i'm playing with. But i'm waiting for 2.0 before posting any official version as X3 2.0 seems to make some changes to the Yakis that i want to inspect first. :)

if I shoot the yaki will I lose reputation or will I get credits for pirate kills?

They are blue and friendly to me right now but if I can get credits, I'd like to kill them. Or even if I can cap their ships without pissing everyone off (other than pirates and other yaki).

it just occurred to me that the only thing an authentic Yaki player will ever lack is access to stations/fabs.

He could play DDRS, and earn himself a player shipyard..but he'll never be able to purchase fabs/factories. Some possible solutions:

1) Very advanced level YA missions involve intercepting an enemy TL loaded with a fab (or two). Tweak the capture logic so that after you kill all the nasty escorts, and get the TL's hull down to 10% or so, it surrenders. Netting you one nearly destroyed TL..and a fab kit or two.

2) For players using LV's HAT...you could get a (yaki or pirate) BBS Offer: pay a mil or two for info on transit route of xxx (race) TL, reputed to be carrying xxx (fab or fabs). Then go hunting..

3) Yaki SY that sells a limited selection of very useful Yaki-specific fabs/forges (Teladi make only?). Access to product linked to your guild rank.

Hi Serial, great script, really adds atmosphere... I was shocked when a red-boxed TL jumped in just as I was about to jump out!

One thing tho, this TL was named "Split High Tech Transporter" but was red-boxed. When I attacked it, it unloaded about 20 "Yaki Fighter Drones". When I blew it up, I got the message of 250k reward, no Split race hit (I think!!).

Is that normal, I mean the "Split High Tech Transporter" part? Also, the text wasn't formatted right, it was more like "Split High Tech Transpo" with the last bit cut off due to length, and double spacing.

you encountered a MobBase in 'incognito' mode, masquerading as a non-Yaki. But once you killed it, you got the 250k reward. And shouldn't've suffered a Split rep hit.

went to Senator's Badlands, landed at the Yaki JobCenter, and also commed with Yaki patrols--but none would tell me where I could contact a mobile base. Was this the result of not yet being a Yaki member?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to be observing something really interesting.

I only saw the aftermath, which was a bunch of Yaki drones and 4-5 JTP capital ships.

I check my log and my sector patrol was totally wiped out (1 M6 and 4 M3s).

Is it possible that my sector patrol wiped out the incognito Yaki TL, but the game believes it's a real Split (or whatever race), then the JTP script kicks in to "save" the TL? Then my ships start attacking the JTP ships and bam I get a race rep hit?

@Serial, sorry for bumping this...

Could you help me look into my problem with the JTP ships? I'm concerned my OOS ships attacking incognito Yaki TLs could be causing my race reps to drop, probably cuz JTP ships jump in to save that incognito TL.

Well, I think that's definitely what is happening because I'm having a similar problem!!!

I'm not using LV's script, but when one of my patrols kills an 'incognito Yaki' the sector police turn on my patrol... I lost several Argon and Paranid race ranks in just a few minutes.

Come to think of it, getting a sector patrol eliminated because of killing an incognito Yaki mothership is really sort of poetic justice...

One quick solution: remove JTP. Which makes YA practically useless anyway..

So it seems that the game (and the JTP script) reacts negatively to an "Unknown Big ship" being attacked.

If a game's Yaki is red and we set "enemy if enemy to me", the game believes a benign TL is being attacked and responds accordingly. If you don't set "enemy if enemy to me", your patrols will ignore rampaging red Yaki.

Since the game currently believes the Yaki isn't an enemy, compared to the tagged enemy races of Pirate, Xenon and Khaak, both race and JTP ships will react negatively.

So bottom line, use YA only if you're prepared to take race hits.

Actually, you can shoot Yaki race ships and most other Races won't give a flip about them, as they don't like Yaki either. The Incognito ships, however, are viewed as 'Race' ships, and JTP reacts accordingly.
