Indeed, had an incredible career, I remember him for doing sub Lt Phillips in the Navy Lark, (very funny radio series) And looking through his film and television career, he certainly was very talented and did a huge amount of work.

Will be very sadly missed.

Dickie Davies has passed away, aged 94.

For those 'of an age' in the UK, he'll be remembered as the voice of Sport for many, many years. R.I.P.

I don't know how well he was known across the world, but in the UK, he was the voice of football (for my generation at least).

Dickie used to come and support the open days at the stables where my daughter works as a riding instructor. I met him and his wife several times. A very nice, amusing and pleasant gentleman who took a genuine interest in the people he spoke to.
A dog has a master; a cat has domestic staff.

Dick Fosbury has passed, aged 76. Lymphoma :( . No doubt he'll be 'jumping' the queue at the pearly gates.
