A couple of people who should be listed in this thread.

David Boggs, who died the other day, aged 71. He was the co-inventor Ethernet.

Cliff Stanford has died, aged 67, founder of Demon Internet.

Shane Warne has passed away from a suspected heart attack. He was younger than me. Damn...
I thought you might have gotten confused be fellow cricketer Rodney Marsh aged 74. But I guess not
His death came less than 24 hours after fellow great Rod Marsh died in hospital, having suffered a heart attack last week.

Yes younger than me too, was there any warning or out of the blue?

It was a suspected heart attack, and out of the blue. He'd been on holiday at the time. Still, he did more in his 52 years than most of us could ever hope to manage, no matter how long our mortal tenure.

And yeah, Ormac, I saw his countryman's death was just the day before. :(
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

Taylor Hawkins, drummer of the Foo Fighters, died. :( He was found in his hotel room in Bogota, where Foo Fighters are currently because of their South America tour.

Vangelis... 79.

Always loved his music. I sometimes listen to retrowave music (yeah, grew up in the 80's) and really like the ones that are inspired by Vangelis' music. It wouldn't surprise me if Alexei Zakharov also loves his music.

Vangelis passed away, one of grandfathers of inspiring and picturesque electronic music. A month before on 26th of April 2022 other well known great musician passed away Klaus Schulze aged 74, he is among one of my favorite artists, a true pioneer and source of inspiration for younger generations of musicians. Soundtrack for XbtF, X2, X3 highly reminds me of space oriented German electronic music played by classics like Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream.

Don't know if anyone else here will know him, but Shamus Young, author of "DM of the Rings" webcomic, ex-columnist for the Escapist magazine and general industry commentator (seriously, check out his Mass Effect retrospective if you've never heard of his stuff), has died:

My Mother passed away on Monday, 25 she was 90 years young. While I know she was not a person of note, she still meant the world to me and I deeply miss her.

Felter, your mum was very much a person of note. I am so sorry for your loss, but what a privilege it must've been to have her in your life for such a long time. - I know from recent experience, however, it's never long enough.
