ok, now i set the Task from buy only to buy & sell, and now it doesn't go shopping but it goes to free argon trading station in the system i am in, and after a while comes back to me in my zephyrus. and then goes to argon trading station again, and comes back to me again, etc without doing any buying/selling of things

I have a problem
The menu interface does not update when I click the wares to buy/sell. For example, I click on ore in buy wares, the menu does not update, (it won't store the settings?). The trader does nothing when click save settings and start buy/sell loop.
I have JSON parser v1.1 installed, both installed as spk using the plugin manager.

I hate to ressurrect an old thread, but I have a problem using it that I can't figure out.
1. I assign (home base) my Xperimental Shuttle to my Cerberus.
2. I set the 'Buy until full' to yes and set his duties to "Buy Only".
3. I tell him to buy "Advanced Satillites" for "Any Price" and off he goes.
Problem:
1. He won't fill his wares 'Until full' he will usually stop at about 90% full and go no further.
2. He won't return to the Homebase when the above (1) happens.
Now, if I set the "Buy/Sell from Homebase" he won't buy anthing from any NPC station, so I have to leave it off.
Is there a problem with the script or is it just not up-to-date with the current release of X3?
General Problem:
When selling, the assigned seller ship does not fill his cargo bay to maximum, minus the needed energy cells for jumping. He will only fill it to the level that I manually filled it to, to get him going. Selling multiple items causes even more headaches because of low starting amounts.
Also, the ware I'm trying to sell has to be onboard the seller ship. If I select a ware to sell and it's not onboard the seller ship, he will not transfer any of the selected items that are available from his Homebase onto the seller ship.
When the seller completely runs out of wares to sell (homebase is empty), he will not return to the Homebase. He will remain docked at the last station he docked at.
EDIT: I'm aware that I could use CAG's to sell stuff with, but I can't use them on ships with a TL as a homebase. It also requires a high-level CAG to be told to only sell stuff.

probably resurrecting a dead topic. but i can't seem to get this one to work with full functionality in x3tc 3.1.
TS's homebased to a TL won't return and unload desired wares to the TL. tried every setting i could find. TS's will run around and buy the wares, but stop when full.
Just me, or is something FUBAR?

Options missing?
Testing this script on Albion Prelude 2.0, seems some options are missing. In options, I don't see "/buy/sell from homebase", "refuel from homebase" "and do not fly when enemies are visible". And on the bottom, there is no homebase max storage quantities setting. Plus when I try to add ware through "add ware from homebase" it doesn't add anything, I have to manually select base, that does work. Seems to me everything that has to do with homebase is bugged. I tried to change freighter's homebase from complex to mine in another sector, no change.

Im Sorry reviving this pretty old thread but i hope anyone is able to help me. I experience a strange problem with the script (i used the plugin manager to install it) The script at first seems to work and it flies my ship to the next solar station (To sell energy cells) the ship then flies to the station, but the command then just stops and the ship sits there without doing anything. When i start the command docked to a station that buys energy cells while i have energy cells loaded, then it sells them, undocks, flies to another station to buy new cells and the command stops there. Might it be a problem with the german version of the game (im playing Terran conflict, not the addon)?
EDIT: Found out that the command doesnt stop, but instead it tries to buy energy cells at the same location it sold them seconds before

I have tried the script in AP since yesterday and it appears to be working fine. I am probably not using it to its full capabililty but as an automated manual trader (a contradiction in itself), to buy and sell a couple of preferred goods over and over again, and it is doing an excellent job so far.
I am at the stage where I am dealing in Ore and Soya Husk to pile up some cash for an elephant and this script has removed the need for me to do it manually, which is a very repetitive and rather dull task when done to hurriedly gather around 20 millions.
The MTE is doing a great job so far. Meanwhile I can carry on with other ways to gather the credits without interruptions.
If I understand it correctly, it is capable of doing more than what I am using it for at the moment, whether the other features work correctly or not I find this to be the best script I have tried so far for the task I have described above.
I am posting this because the last comments in this thread might give the impression that there might problems with it together with AP and could have put some people off, but so far it has been a great find for me (thanks DrB).

I think I'm having an issue with the script. When I run a "best buy / sell loop" on one unique marchandise, such as ore, with no homebase set, it works for a while, and eventually stops after a few iterations.
After a few times, the freigher stays docked somewhere with the mention "best buy / sell loop", without buying / selling ore (cargo empty).
Do I do something wrong ? or there is a timeout between each loop and I'm just looking at the wrong time ?

I use this script in every game. It is terrific for certain things; much easier to use than CLS2 for buying stuff wherever it is available. I usually run it on a fast TP or TS and have it buy rare weapons that I need. "Gun Runners".
However, yes, it does seem to stall once in a while. I have never looked closely enough to see why it stalls.
I just restart the trader and it goes about its business.

Sorry for necro, but yes, I tried to resupply TL / M7 Griffon with M3 / TS or whatever else options I have. I only wanted buy x ware for x quantities option, this thing was so close to what I was looking for, yet it happens :l
Wonder if there are any working replacements..
