most of the asteroid fields are exports from work done long ago by a member of the team who left. Most of that was done manually, from both the standard game and that work, i have python scripts that can mutate these fields into new fields - resizing, shaping, merging, rotating and cloning them as necessary.
If i had to place all of these manually, i would have given up long ago

The Games Com demo was good.
You really felt you were somebody and someone had an axe to grind, but you were in their way.
I was really looking forward to the final release of Rebirth.
That was then...this is now.
Now I know there there is a game buried under the bugs.
Basically a console, space, action-game, with trading and exploration bolted on.
The old Trilogy could work in the new universe.
But I can't see anyone trying that kind of mod ,...for now at least.
We just wait for the fog of bugs to clear... then we will have a game we can enjoy.
I'd love to post up some pictures, but all peeps would see is stand in FX and the old Blue UI (which is getting re-released alongside my Gold UI, standalone with a new one for XTL being made).

I wish. The long and the short of that is don't expect a public release until January, even then, depending on internal testing will probably the back end of the month. Not going to give dates, but we are working hard on the mod

Things are rolling forward at a steady pace, Im not sure what the poster above me is talking about, however... we never gave a guaranteed date.

Yup, I'd rather wait seven years to play this mod than never.TTD wrote:Xmas and new year out the way.
Soon be Easter.
We can wait for a good mod.

Both of us would go mad doing it for 7 years I think
However things are moving foward at an incredible speed at the moment. Jack08 as you can see is chucking out 1000's of lines of code a day for the new ship menu system.
Shadow Doctor K is doing some awesome work on ships for the project too, soon we will have a few more teaser screens for you all.
