Docking ware size is set to smaller if you use the codea docking ware size fix. Lets you put docking wares on any fighters, not just codea ones. Also, docking at a station does not regenerate my TM ship, but docking my fighter at my TM does regen shields. The shield regen exploit thing may only effect fighters. I think its a non issue, personally. Its no more of a cheat then having 8 enemy AI fighters all focus fire shooting me when i have 5 wingmates nearby who arent being attacked. You would think some of the ai would split up their attacks instead of dogpiling the player ship.KloHunt3r wrote:Regarding docking computer ware size, I'm guessing it's because of the possible abuse. Docking computers can be a bit of a cheat since your ship's shields are fully restored upon landing at a station. So if you fight close to a station you can just keep using the docking computer to land at the station, instantaneously recharge, undock, and continue fighting without having to actually retreat.
This is less applicable for capital ships because equipment docks and shipyards are much harder to come by.
I wonder if Paul would be willing to decrease the ware size of docking computers if someone wrote a script to remove it from the player's ship while enemies are near and/or the player's ship is under attack. Based on my (extremely) limited understanding of programming, it seems like a simple enough script to create.

Believe it or not, the AI doesn't actually automatically prioritize the player in combat. Whether or not an enemy targets you depends on what ship they're flying, what ship you're flying, and if you've hit them or not.
The player tends to fly larger ships and hit enemies first, so the player is most often the primary target. If you let the AI fly ships as large or larger then your own, and give them an active attack order rather than a passive one (such as "Protect") then enemies will attack your NPC-controlled ships more often.

Is there any way to manually edit race relations so that they dont care that your attacking someones transporter in another persons territory. Right now im having alot of problems with borons in argon territory, not too long ago my mars/codea went bat shit crazy and started attacking boron transporters due to friendly fire, now a whole bunch of boron are dead and i went from friendly to being an enemy of the boron.
Now that im an enemy ofc all my laser towers i have pre placed all over argon space are automaticly engaging boron transporters which in turn is causing a fail cascade of effects namely the argon turning on me and attacking my complexes. Please help what should i do?

The thing is, the boron and the argon are allies. Although I have no idea whether it is possible, you could just cheat your rank up to friendly with the boron again?Ragemaster9999 wrote:Is there any way to manually edit race relations so that they dont care that your attacking someones transporter in another persons territory. Finally got an Argon Atlas. Sold my Ocelot ( needed the money).
Got it fully decked.
Love it!
Already cleared one Xenon Sector. Now two more left ( still haven't discovered all the sectors so only 3 Xenon sectors currently )

Are mission rates nerfed in XRM? Most of the missions are not worth doing, at most you seem to make 100-200k. The only missions that can be worth decent change seem to be 2 mil tops, and they spawn rarely as very hard eliminate a target. I remember in x3tc with SRM+cmod making lots more money during my game time.
Takes forever to save up for stuff
2 ingame days so far and I got 2 m6, 1 tm with 4 fighters, and a complex hub with about 5 traders with a complex hub of 3 wheat farms, 1 ore l, 1 silicon l, and an energy medium. Current task is to train my marines so i can hopefully cap some ships and start making decent money.
Also, when is a good time to try and claim a sector? I was thinking one of the empty ones that seem to be scattered around the map, like Eta pisa (off of enduring light). I wonder if paul put these seemingly empty sectors in there for a reason.
I read on the page 1 that you can buy Headquarters or equipment dock like things, where specifically can i find these stations? So far my knowledge of the stations is limited to factories. Or do i have to do the hub plot, note im playing AP version.

XRM doesn't touch anything about missions.
Rewards probably seem less... rewarding... because the AI is tougher in general.
In vanilla, killing a pirate M6 in an average station defense mission at assassin rank while flying an Argon Nova will net you 500k credits.*
In XRM, killing a pirate M6 in an average station defense mission at assassin rank while flying an Argon Nova will net you 500k credits.*
In the latter case it feels like less of a profit because you actually had to put effort into getting that kill.
*Totally made up numbers.

Okay, then they must have been nerfed by egosoft at some point. I wonder if they can be modded or if it is hardcoded. I dont think the ai is any more tougher, in fact npcs generated from missions are WAY easier than Npcs generated by the XRM universe. Im at militant rank and even the hardest mission usually spawn A m6 or m8 and about 10 M3-m5 most of it being garbage M4 and m5 shooting IREs. Thankfully the bounty system is a boon to the constant killing of worthless ships.KloHunt3r wrote:XRM doesn't touch anything about missions.

Well I don't use a sector takeover script any more but I have setup home in the bottom right corner unknown sector. It has some great asteroids and has a great shipyard near by.
To get the HQ's you have to go to any main race's shipyard and they're there, if they're not then there is something wrong with your install.
On saving up for stuff, the best way to do it is to go the trading route, and become full friends with every race. Then you can do the collect ship missions and find derelict M7's. By doing this, I now have a player HQ (from the plot) 30 factories, and about 20 TS'. An Ocelot and the PX I started in. In 3 game days, its not too bad!

Uh oh, something wrong with my install... dont think so? When you say main races shipyard, are you refering to ALL of them, or just a single one? I can confirm that the argon shipyard in OmiCron Lyrae has no headquarters, as well as the jonferson showroom in Black hole sun doesn't have it either. Is it actully called Headquarters? or is there another name. I have not yet found Argon Prime, so maybe im looking in the wrong area. Can you give a specific sector, please?InFlamesForEver wrote:Well I don't use a sector takeover script any more but I have setup home in the bottom right corner unknown sector. Yes the find my abandoned ship mission is very rare, and even rarer to spawn a frigate, but is possible. Although a bit of an exploit i feel, as i learned you can just sell them for minimal rep loss. Screw handing it in for a measly 500k!

I know that none of the showrooms sell them, and I mean the big shipyards. I'm pretty sure that the ones in Argon Prime and Kingdom end do. Also look for a shipyard being sold as we, they're pretty much the same thing. I would confirm one but I'm playing gears right now and I don't want to load up X3 lol

3 days in, I've got a Boreas, an Ocelot and a Forseti with 5 fully outfitted Blastclaw Prototypes (PRGs, FBLs front and HEPT back). Saving up for a wing of Fenrirs, then a Microchip 'plex in the Unknown sectors near Unholy Descent (I'm playing TC).
Money making really ramps up when you get an M6 (In my case the Vidar), as that means you can hunt down pirate M7s with bounties, and hitting one that's been annoying everyone will net you a cool 5 Million. Just gotta watch out for GCs, as they're awesome Corvette killers. And Frigate Killers. They're the main reason I bought a Boreas, in fact. That and the new model's awesome.

Just to go back to the Docking Comuter.
I will instal the mod that puts it back where it should be thanks.
I have never used that exploit, in fact I had not noticed that the shields regen auto!
To me the docking computer is just like SETA, it stops some of the humdrum everyday tasks, to allow me some more time doing the stuff I enjoy the most! I only have limited time to play games everyday, so like action and building; not watching the same thing over and over again.
I guess you could take it the other way, no docking computer; no SETA, a bit more immersive I suppose? There again I wonder if someone could mod us up a toilet scene to marvel at? I mean everyone needs to go to the toilet don't they? ( Except the xenon! ) Perhaps you could have it kick in at random times? Bursting for a crap just as the bloody Khaak take an interest in you!

Whoo finally got into the game. Think I hit the jackpot too, first gate I jumped through was that eta psi (or whatever its called) and found me a xenon ship that looks like a shadow ship from b5. It has big purple lasers and tears ships to bits lol. So I'm making tones of cash just flying to warzones and claiming ship bounties.
However I thought I read there was missions to take that would progress the war for your chosen side. Where and how do I takes these?
Why can't I find and crystal fans or solar farms? Every other station exists but these.
And finally, and sadly I fear my install is borked. I see a list of stations called fdn l , fdn m etc for sale, what the **** are they? And is my instal borked?

FDN are from Logan Aibler scripts - freight distribution network or production modules - they should work okGungy wrote:Whoo finally got into the game.
