You have to edit the files with the script editor. You can't use a text editor.

if you want to change the ware it uses. you have to first have to pic a new ware from emp, then edit the text file to include the correct text for the ids of the new ware.
then edit each of the plugin.advjum.* and setup.plugin.advjump scripts and chance every reference of the old ware to the new one.
if you want to edit EMP itself, you will need doubleshadows X3 Editor.
and open up the TWareT.pck file from in the EMP .cat files htat u've installed.
then find the ware or the advanced jumpdrive, look in the text file to find out the id then look in the emp help file to find out its ware name.
then change the price and notority values

Ok, that all sounds very complicated and extensive, I just wanted to change a few values but I see I’m going to need to go to university and do a few courses before I attempt any of that. I had a good go though; I added the following to the script:
<Didgeridoo> type=”int”[]GIVE[] 9u0 39 []ME[] r30iv h9 []FREE[] 09 094 []JUMPS[] tu4 0u 9-3 0fi []CATSH1T[] [] WASHING MACHINES LIVE LONGER WITH CALGON[] clsanclk asnclkn []BOLLOCKS[] lasncn asldq wokn oq0309 2jrt03 j0 jdfisd0pvd invn cn 463s ncvsc 0j0cja0s c0saj0c sac9sa0cs </Didgeridoo>
I was hoping it would confuse it and via slight of hand I might get the stuff for free.

Changes shield strength
Hy DarthVain,
By the way cycrow, cool script, and I like the idea with the handling of the wares to get around with the EC problem - smart
Well, had also same 'minor' irritation about the shieldstrength.
In script 'plugin.advjump.jump' script 'plugin.advjump.shields' will be started.
This is the point to do some modifications if you want.
E.g. set a var to submit (maybe) shieldstrength or the used ECs.
I changed the shields script in another manner:
- defined a variable to read out the max shield strength possible
- then subtract, say80% of it
- reassign this as shieldstrength
or as above hint; submit the amount of EC used (you may define a argument in the shields script to get it from the calling script) and then you can calculate what ever you want.
(or even make some scripts to check the shiptype or so.)
Its really easy, in case you want no shield drop, look for and change:
[THIS] -> set current shield strength to <what ever you want as shields>;
or comment it out for no shield drop.
For the guys who are questioning this kind of scripts, as also for the ones '... it is toooo expensive...':
Well a suggestion:
You pay aroung 10.000.000Credits (Adv.Jumdrive); and as middle price for EC around 14;
So, when divided you get around 700.000ECs. This means for a ship around 140.000 (M4) till 35.000 (M2) Sectorjumps - isn't this enought ?
regards
wanderer

Hi, first off I want to say awesome mods. They look to be of great use to me, and will ease several headaches down the line I'm sure.
However, I need to get past one of my headaches now. I followed all of your instructions as best I can, including using the EMP install pack (which took some digging through the thread to find, it should really be added up top). Anyhow, other scripts I installed using your installer have worked, including the salvage insurance. However, the Jump upgrades are not listed whatsoever in the equipment dock. They aren't out of stock, they are out of existance, lol. I have uninstalled and reinstalled EMP several times, downloaded it from a different mirror and retried, I have enabled the script editor, and nothing seems to be working here. I am unsure what to do next. Please advise, thanks.

Not sure if a similar idea has been mentioned:
I still feel like I'm cheating using this script. Its good that your shields go down, but I seem to be able to jump anywhere in the galaxy for the same shield energy drain..
What would be cool is if the distance you jump is related to the shield strength of your ship. So smaller ships have to make several small jumps, waiting for shields to recharge each time, whereas large ships can jump much further... and if they only jump a short distance, a smaller proportion of shield energy is used.
This would seem a lot more balanced to me, whilst keeping the convenience of this device. Also it would add some tactics... short jumps in enemy territory so that you still have shields to defend an attack; or long jumps to get across enemy territory as fast as possible, but with greater risk to the ship...

I have the same exact problem. All scripts are working fine except for a small glitch in assigning workers (says NULL) where I am presuming it should say there stats i.e. excellemt, good etc. and I cant find an advanced jumpdrive in any argon EQ.Hi, first off I want to say awesome mods.
