As for the first issue, are you running any additional scripts that affect docking?

I have the following scripts installed: Complex cleaner, XRM, salvage command suite, cockpit pack and cheat pack in that order.

I use this installation to check if something is a bug or intended feature if I encounter something strange when playing my primary installation which has a few more scripts installed.

That may be a bug in the external docking dummy used - I'll check it.

Hey Paul,

couple of months ago i wrote here about the "Komodo" issue, not beeing able to dock any ships aside from fighters. After a while you´ve released the latest update, but i´v never continiued that save with my Split char, so i never tested wether the bug was corrected. Now i wanted to buy Komodo again, just to find out that it can´t dock any M6, TS, or TP :(
I´ve read you´ve got all hands full of stuff to do in RL, just wanted to remind you about that issue ( all provided i don´t have a screwed xrm install, or something, since nobody ever mentioned that bug during all the time :? ).

Thanks in advance, and take care.

It got overlooked for the last update. Its on the to-do list for the next update.

I don't have an ETA for it yet. May is going to be extremely busy for me at work as we are moving buildings - I have to oversee the transfer of IT systems and I'll have to do loads of overtime. But things should calm down in June so I hope to get it out sometime after then.

First time I am attempting to install XRM, and have hit a potential snag. I am pretty sure the answer is in here somewhere, if someone could point me in the right direction.

I have downloaded the latest XRM files (all three parts) but Steam seems to include the AP 3.1 update in a new install. I have done this three times now, and stop the update as it finishes. It still creates 04 and I can't find away around this.

Is there some way to install XRM over an updated copy of AP? Is it sufficient to rename the existing cat 04 to 05, and then unpack the XRM files?

My apologies if the answer is obvious, my search didn't yield anything succinct.

Shield Strength Displayed Incorrectly!!!

Post by crackgrahamer »

So I noticed after playing a bit that shields are displayed incorrectly in that MJ(mega-?joule?) shields are only Kj shields (kilo-?joule?), same goes for Gj only being Mj..... Now I don't have the hulls mod on, small,medium, or big (or whatever).
But overall it upsets me that the shield ratings are all wrong. Though it'd also be forever before my ship broke anyone's shields if they were the correct ratings.....
Kj = x * 10^3
Mj = x * 10^6
Gj = x * 10^9
And 10^2 is 100.

Math, its everywhere. Don't screw it up.

Edit: They after looking over several ships it occurred to me its just a technicality. 25,000kj is 25Mj... its just at the smaller side they leave it at 10^3 and then at the medium to higher sides they have and leave it in Mj instead of jumping to Gj. So nothing is wrong in the end. It just looks a weird, a bit.

Which sector claiming script should I install, the main post seems to have two of them listed. Either Lazerath's LazCorp Claim Sector or Trickmov's STO 1.57 - overtake sectors?

Thanks.

No - 04 is vanilla. Put the XRM at 05 and 06.

Please show me a screenshot of what you mean - I've never seen what you describe before. The shield ratings are fine for me. They should be 1MJ, 5MJ, 25MJ, 200MJ, 1GJ and 2GJ. If you're seeing anything else, you have another mod causing it.

Paul, can you publish the sources for the ship and weapon stats files?
I have some knowledge of web developing and wish to improve their interface.

lol

For reference, a good place to check for action are the war sectors, which are basically those bordering Argon and Terran space in the Omicron Lyrae area.

Is there another Mirror for downloading?
Because I'm loading with 22kbps. Would take 7 hours for only downloading Part 1

Well you have a better graphics card than me, the same RAM and a slower CPU. I get very little slowdown, even in big battles, so as long as you have a 64bit OS, you should be fine. It entirely depends on your resolution and Antialiasing settings as these eat up GPU RAM and many of the new models in the XRM are GPU RAM hungry due to poor (or no) optimisation.

Unfortunately, I did not write the scripts that convert the source game files into the stats webpage so I cannot publish them. They were written by JMan77 and I don't think he's around any more. However, I'm sure he would be OK with me sending them to you directly. If you email me, I'll send them through.

Well, i went with this processor because it is very good with games using single cores which is especialy useful for x3

Also i seem to have coem across another bug, There seems to be argon shipyards everywere. There is 1 in paranid prime and for some reason produces ice lol
