Will new update require a fresh start? I'm back to XRM and about to start a new game so I just want to be sure :)

I seem to recall that a couple of months ago someone posted LOD files for the unoptimised XRM ships here. Did anyone try them? I'm not having any luck finding the post in this thread!

I've installed them both (for ships and for station) and I think it helps - game are rather more stable, but I used them them on ongoing game so it took some time before something happen.

Here are the posts you were looking for:

Thanks Viliae! I haven't played XRM for quite a while, I'm going to give it a spin today and try these out.

Something happend with laser auto aim in XRM? It works now like I have only Fight command software MK1 - it shows aiming circle but no auto aim.

Hi,

I have stopped playing X3 TC just before the launch of AP. (To be exact, I was playing X3 TC SRM :))

I about to get a fresh start, and I cannot decide if I go for TC or AP (Best would be TC plots in AP, but it doesn't work with XRM (apparently it's a bit buggy)) or IEX).

Just three quick questions : No Khaak in AP ? And is the OOS really better than in TC (with the OOS mods v1) ?

I can go TC build my empire, do the plots and redo it (let say with a cheat: a little fleet of M5 and little cash to start) into AP and stay here in the long term.

Anyway. XRM is a must have for me, and if it's really better in AP i'll start directly in it (but I love doing plot, to bad egosoft didn't 'implement them in AP like a X3 Terran Prelude ou Albion Conflict Redux :))

To finish: I never played vanilla TC long enough. XRM is the way and you have my thanks.

Hi Neaera,

Unless you are really keen on the X3TC ship stats, you might as well go with AP. I don't know how AP compares to that OOS combat mod but AP included various bug fixes and optimisations as well. That said, if going with XRM, the differing vanilla ship stats won't be available so I think AP would make most sense.

Check out my sig for updated version of the Bonus Pack scripts plus the UT Blacklist Manager fix. You might even like to combine LIFE with AP/XRM :)

Thanks.

In fact, the only (and for me) big TC advantages is plots, and I know there is so much more to do in X universe than plot, but i cannot help i like them. And i never did Aldrin, New Home, Treasure Hunt.

Being able to do the TC plots in AP with XRM is THE solution for me. But apparently it's 'no so much' stable, so I'll pass. (I tried to take a look how to merge, but without modding knowledge, God, thanks so much for the people who tried, the task is overwhelming and I don't know where to begin, but if someone has idea, can explain me in 100/200 lines and leave me with 25 days of work by myself, I could try it, I have time, but I'm lost !).

That said, that's why i want to go for TC (with XRM) do plots (all of them) and move to AP cheating my start (to give a boost like 5% of my TC empire, and for my head a RP reason) and go for Terran start and the War with them (Loose Ends, if I've understood).

But people said the AP plots were meh and by reading a sticky with the diff between the two the interesting stuff was the War and OOS (for me).

So if the OOS (AP vs TC with the OOS mod v1) aren't that different, I'll skip AP and stay on TC. Or wait for a TCplot in AP-XRM if someone has the courage.

And if AP is really really better, I'll go for it directly and read plots on walkthrough. (From my PoV, TC was better than Reunion, and AP seems just like a patched TC with new plots, so I'm not sure)

If not for the plots, I'll go AP without hesitation.

And if someone can confirm no khaak in AP. (I loved khaak :)).

Thanks for the tips and sorry for the pollution since it's lightly XRM related beside I loved SRM, and I want to play with it at all cost :)

I can't remember about Kha'ak in vanilla AP but AP:XRM has Kha'ak.

But it sound's like you are going to get far more enjoyment out of TC:XRM and as you say, you can always cheat in some starting funds for AP later :)

I fully agree to second to that!

However, in AP there are some or more scripts that allow you to start a group of ships called 'fleets', which probably seemed pretty powerful [though I never seen nor use it myself]. Other than that, except for its complete total wars, new game plots, and capability to type 1 letter in succession, I find it no more thrilling than X3-TC.

For OOS, though I never confirmed it myself [I don't have X3-AP], a friend of mine said that it was only slightly better than X3-TC ones. However, I've never left out any conflicts, I WILL always want to join in any kind of conflicts [except when enemies were trying to attack my satellites]. I myself like to play as Split, I'm sure you know why I played this way...

Hey, Paul, great news you keep XRM updated.
It's just such a great mod to play, and keeps X3 interesting to play.
Just great, and much appreciated.

We are waiting for the same thing on the X4, in the future ...;)
Paul, why not share the secret? I gave an honest barter.
And why ignore my private messages?
Besides, I do at least a global modification than yours, but on the basis of your own;)
Authorship is yours. I'm just doing what I want to do.

When I turn off the prize for his head, then the game goes smoothly, without brakes.
In general, very strongly inhibit scripts XRM.

Hi guys, building a new copy of TC with XRM...my favorite mod, followed the set up to the letter even loaded and upgraded from disk, no steam stuff involved. went right in worked did the first mission when killed my second guy some odd script something flashed across the bottom, finished the mission docked at the equipment dock everything looks good, checked the other stuff, in the list for artificial intelligence the vanilla entries are code too, haven't looked any further so what is wrong? I went over the set up one folder at a time twice...

Hi, i've decided to start a new campaign with the XRM after a hd format.
All seems to be good, the performance is ok , 50-60 fps, but when i open a menu, expecially the sector map, the game stutters as hell, mouse pointer included. I've tried the "OLD ATI DLL FIX", if you know what i mean... (atiumdag.dll) but if i put this dll in the game folder, the launcher doesn't appear and the game crashes. I've used this method already with vanilla game and had worked. Can be the XRM incompatible with this fix?
Another thing, i'm now on windows 8.1 instead of windows 7!

Does this mod adjust the prices of Terran ships and weapons at all?
