Do you really think I would post here before having the editor open and being ready to go? I asked to save myself several hours of testing and fiddling as once I know what all the parameters mean I can write it out 20 times faster without faffing around.
The editor is nice but no substitue for knowing what you are doing.
I'll work it out myself, it's not like I was asking a tough question.

Exactly how would you expect us to know that, since you completely failed to mention you even knew what the editor was, and then went on to post an extract of the raw text files to illustrate what you were doing?Lyth wrote:Do you really think I would post here before having the editor open and being ready to go?

As far as I'm aware, there isn't a detailed breakdown of the TFactories fields for TC (unless it's in the editor thread). They might be the same as X3R - or you can easily create your own by comparing the values in the editor to the raw data.

You're asking the question, so you have to explain what you want!
And what parameter don't you understand? I still find the paramter names very self-explanatory:

-Carlos, no their isn't a breakdown your quite right. I "assumed" the parameters for ware production, resource requirements and storage space was in the factories file but not visable via the editor - it's not visible because it's not their afaics.
-Carlos/Strat, thank you for your replies. I'll work it out.

Storage space is not explicitly defined in any file. It seems to be some formula, which takes into account the ressources and the products the factory has.. I "assumed" the parameters for ware production, resource requirements and storage space was in the factories file but not visable via the editor - it's not visible because it's not their afaics.
Ressource requirements are not defined per ware, but per factory. This means that every product of a factory will use every ressource. The products/ressources of a factory are defined in the WareTemplate.xml.
Ware production (like cycle time or ressource usage) is again calculated by some weird formula, which takes the RelVals of the product and of the ressources into account.
It's not easy to get the price/production rate/etc. of a ware completely right, sometimes impossible (especially if you want more "extreme" values). Because of this, I even wrote my own production script to produce ships in a shipyard (for a mod project).

Well, you're the only person in the whole universe allowed to have them, building process is rather cumbersome and there's a performance problem which has never really been fixed. Also, once you get into late-game complex building phase gameplay changes a lot. Since we have wonderful Lucike's scripts to keep our factories supplied I prefer to keep them separeted. It may not be as efficient but it blends with vanilla economy better imo.

A): Use the plugin manager for things that allow it
B): Drag and drop scripts to "Steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict" I am pretty sure you can use both the plugin manager, and the normal drag and drop... If I'm wrong, please correct me. It might be that you don't have hidden files on.
