FORGO (in my head, I was sure it was forego)

Both exist, with different meanings. In my head I had the meaning of the answer assigned to the same spelling you did, despite the fact that etymologically the other meaning has to be the one with that spelling.

Probably the Wordle I spent the most time on. Started it this morning, managed to get to guess three and then it was over. Came back to it several times today without any luck of finding a suitable word.

Yes, yes it does. This is what happens when your language is a weird chimera in the first place, and compounds the situation by stealing words and phrases from other languages on a regular basis.
