Well aint that "special"

My fingers hurt now. Too much communicating with trade docks. Went so fast I managed to tell a Paranid Weapons Dealer to surrender right in front of the trading dock in Empires Edge. Neither the dock, it's 2 laser towers or the small weapons platforms nearby liked that very much. Guess I should slow down a bit. lmao!!

But I will say this, this is definitely a game breaking thing. "literal"

Got QPs and FCs appearing in barter and it is so broken! One thing to remember about Best Buys is that it only show the best deal for an item in the sector. However, items in barter are available on every station in the sector. You can just choose the best deals, or just sweep up everything regardless of price. Best of all, if you use just one ship to go around buying the goods in the sector, the first stations you started at will have regenerated new offers by the time you finish a circuit of the stations in the sector.
With my HQ in the Hub, I have 15 sectors with stations to get QPs and FCs from. Each sector seems to be able to produce about 50 of each per circuit.

Agreed. I think this is patched in the unofficial patch. It also works with something special you discover as well. <wink>Jimmy C wrote: ↑Mon, 25. A slight problem with using this for SDs, you can only exchange SDs one at a time. While having several hundred gives you tens of millions of DP, it takes forever to redeem at that rate.

It does suck. I think I accepted that as a balance for doing this. But at the same time, it's an exploit. I did manage to goof up my keystroke pattern once and tell a Paranid Weapons Dealer to surrender right next to a Paranid Trading Dock (on accident). The laser tower connected to the dock took exception and started shooting at me. lol...

My pattern is Com, Pg Down, Enter, Pg Down, Enter, Enter. Both the Guild contact and the Special Discovery options are always at the end of the Com list so it takes only one second with a bound key. But occasionally the sequence causes the Trade Station to be set to my right monitor and pressing Com afterwards causes my ship to undock from the station, where I'm usually docked while doing this. This can be reset by doing something before pressing Com again. I usually use the opportunity to check my cargo for how many SDs remain.BrigandPhantos77 wrote: ↑Tue, 16. I probably should do it while docked too.Jimmy C wrote: ↑Sat, 27. Apr 24, 04:06

Re: Quantum Processor Wink Wink
I had a realization just now. This process creates an unlimited supply of Special Discoveries but how can you spend all of that? The Guild contacts disappear after you make one selection.
But there is an exception. At certain core sector Trade Docks (or Stock Exchanges) the Guild contact is permanent. You can keep turning in DP for things. But even here, you'll eventually reach a point where none of the choices interest you. Then you'll have to leave and go do something else while you wait for the choice to reset to something new.
So here's how you get better choices right away. After you accept an item in exchange for DP and the Com window closes save a game. Absolutely DO NOT reopen the Com window before you save. Doing so will cause the Guild contact to fix the next set of DP exchange choices, whether you contact them or not.
But if you saved before opening the Com window again, you now can reload for new selections whenever you're unsatisfied with the available ones. I just spent an hour exchanging for stuff and reloading as needed at the Dock in Argon Prime Delta. I could have kept going until I ran out of DP but I decided I had to move on. Even if I ran out of DP, I still had 2900 SDs tucked away for exchanging.
AP Delta and Cardinal's Domain Delta are the Docks I know where the Guild contact is permanent. I assume there's at least one for each faction, but I haven't been paying attention to them, until now.

They should be fixed by design. I remember it was stated that the reps at core sectors are permanent.BrigandPhantos77 wrote: ↑Fri, 24. May 24, 04:43

I remember that, those ones I listed are permanent. Just wish the drone frigate blueprints were in the list for them.Jimmy C wrote: ↑Sun, 26. May 24, 03:25They should be fixed by design. Re: Quantum Processor Wink Wink
is this fixed in cycrow patch or not? how is this fixed/scripted?
All i've read so far are assumptions.
I can't see these wares in sectors stock exchange. My HQ beeing in free sector next to home of legends/akeelas beacons. Focus & Processors are set to Product, storage min/max limited.
looks like stock exchange/buy doesnt allow anything except minerals, bio and food. i cant buy missiles, weapons or other certain wares.

It's not in the Trade listing, it's in the Barter listing. Every station has a Barter listing and if you set things up correctly, all of them will have the items. Items for you to buy are on the second page of the listing.Perahoky wrote: ↑Wed, 29. May 24, 14:40 I can't see these wares in sectors stock exchange. To set this up, the item min/max values need to be the same. The quantities you can find will depended on the amount set at your HQ. The higher that number, the more you can potentially find at any station. Also, make sure you don't have entries for these items on any of your other stations. Use the "Remove Ware" action if you find any on a station.
Finally, have something, anything, to exchange for items in Barter. It'll reduce the cost by half compared to just paying credits for them. With how cheap FCs, QPs and SDs are, I use Energy Cells. Just make sure you calculate the value of the exchange and that you're not giving away something that's worth more than what you are receiving.

How is this list/menu created, in mod terms?

Re: Quantum Processor Wink Wink
The last patch was in '21. I've still been bartering for FCs and QPs up to yesterday. First things first, do you know where the Barter screen of a station is? When you dock to a station that isn't yours, a menu pops up. The second item of that menu is Trade, it opens the Trade window which I am sure you are familiar with. But the next item below Trade on that menu is Bartering. Open it. That's the Barter window.
It has three tabs. The first one, that is what you see when you open the window, is a list of things people are looking to buy from you. The second tab lists what those people have to sell to you. This tab is where you will find the Quantum Processors and Focus Crystals for sale if you had set things up correctly at the HQ and your other stations.
Find this window first, then come back here.

Re: Quantum Processor Wink Wink
It may be patched in Cycrows unofficial patch. You'll have to read* his patch notes to confirm it.
viewtopic.php?f=201&t=448962
We are on vanilla 1.3 version. It is not, and probably will not get patched. It's been asked for, but the devs who officially sign off are busy with Foundations. I've reached out via site Admin, and they have reached out for me. Just keep your fingers crossed for a 1.4 including his stuff at some point. And if it is indeed patched, sad to see it go.
Cycrow is doing amazing stuff for the game, a version 1.4 with what he is doing will render playing TC and AP pointless as it moves there stories directly into FL.
