when registering, its the name that appears, not the key thats used, you have to assign the key manually in the controls menu.
and yeah, you can get the sector input, so if you wanted it to work with a hotkey, you will have to find another way to select the sector, or hope egosoft add that ability in a later patch

Ah. Ok. Well, crap.
Could the SOS script be modified to claim only targeted ships (that are pilotless of course)? Or, if you use the hotkey for it, does it just bring up the sector map, and you can go from there? Taking the shift-c, then piracy, then claim ship out of the process?
I'm just lazy, sorry. I wanna get ships with minimal monkey business.
Actually, I've got an idea...

Knew about the latter part, didn't know about the first part.Cycrow wrote:tthe hotkey for SOS mk2 does claim the targeted ship
just target the empty ship, and press the hotkey
there is also a command slot you can use which allows you to select the ship from the sector map, then it will fly to it and claim it

Well then, I guess that solves my problem.

[tangent]Now I need to find the deal for the cargo bay door...

Mal: "He had to.... Couldn't let us profit. Wouldn't be civilized."

Update 1.10
not unless you edit the ut script to use this jumpdrive instead of the standard one, althou i *might* do an addon that will basically replace the standard jump scripts so it can use these upgrades.tazlik2fly wrote:will st/ut's be able to use this or will they stiill buy and use energy cells on their own
if uts use the move.jump script like a good little script instead of the built in jump command, then it will work
====================================
New version avaialble: V1.10
V1.10
* Added Jumpdrive Targetting Scanners upgrade
* Added hotkeys to store and jump to positions
* Added undocking before performing jump
* Added uninstall scripts
====================================
4. Jumpdrive Targetting Scanners
The targetting scanners are used to allow you to jump to a position within a sector rather that just to the gate.
requires the targeting scanners upgrade as well as the Advanced jumpdrive to function.
5. Hotkeys
There are 2 hotkeys added, the first will store your current ships position
and the second will allow you to jump directly to that stored position.
You must first assign keys to these from the controls menu under the interface tab.
