Oh! I forgot to type that one, but I have installed it. I did it with the script installer too.

Thanks! It works now :D

A quick question, will your scripts still work if I install the beta patch? Also, do you recommend the patch? I am having audio/visual problems and i read that the new patch installs codecs.

the patch shuldn't effct the scripts in anyway, so if your having problems, it might be worth trying to install it

Well, definitive a problem of the addon, switch it off and the problem is gone. Also, had a look into the task list, no obivous problems there (maybe 2 task getting across each other).

PS: Something to mention... Using energy free jump, the counting starts, speed is going down (this happens because of your script - or?). Now, I press SINZA to get faster, well not possible, the normal jumpdrive will also be under the SINZA controll.

PS II: 'plugin.advjump.jump' can be used from other scripts outside as well? Or do I have to initialize some others? (Global var's or so)

This is normal behavior when you engage autopilot for jumping. It stops (or trys to) the ship, and SETA won't affect it.

yyeah u can use the plugin.advjump.jump from other scripts, thats basically what the addon does, i will look at fixing the addon, not sure y its causing the problem thou.

i'll have to test the EAX thing as well, c if thats doing anything

I have a question about this scrip replacement addon. Does this add additional command to use the energy free jump to station, position etc?
I have it installed, and I see no changes to my commands. If I use the regular, jump and fly to station, it doesnt work. It trys to fly the ship there.

I downloaded the latest 1.4 version of this script. I started with a clean install of X3, installed the latest update and patch for X3.

Was running around in a M6 with 4 M3's following me I tryed a jump to position. No problem there but when my 4 escorts poped in they came into the center of the sector and then started heading to the jump gate of the sector that would lead to the sector I was in just before my jump. So I had to re-send the protect me cmd for them to know I was in the sector with them already.

LOL also never ever abort a jump to gate command! because even though your command was canceled for your ship the excorts kept on going and went to the sector, and because I wasn't there the escorts desided to travel back thru the gate and sadly there was enough Xenon on the other side of the gate to wipe then out is a heart beat :-)

Also glad to see you changed the amount of shields being drained. Nice to see only part of the shilds being drained instead of all of them well done

Hoping no one flames me for adding a few funds to my account so I can test things out and see how the scripting works.

Jimby: the addon doesn't add any commands, it simply replaces the standard jump commands to make them use the advanced jumpdrive if its installed. This will mean that other scripts can make use of it as well, like the Mk3 Trader.

however, there should be commands already available form the original Advanced Jumpdrive if you have it installed on your ship.

YBnorml: There should jump to the closest gate ill have to check that make sure i've not made a mistake anywhere

Hi Cycrow,

I've been using this script for a while and I've started having a problem that after certain jumps the generator and jumpdrive disappear after doing a jump. Is this part of the script or is something not right here?

A bit distressed at the thought of replacing them when they cost a bit!

no they shouldn't be removed.

however, when you jump, the script will empty you cargo hold to make room fro energy cells, its possible its removing some of the upgrades and not restoring them, ill have to check that

well, found out the reason about the freezes. It is a problem in Omycron Lyrae and Black Sun. In this sectors normally you have around 40-50 objects (ships, stations, asteroids). Now, I have there around 300(!), mostly Agon Nova and Buster Ships. When selecting this sector or flying into it, later or earlier it freezes. In the moment I cannot say why I have so much objects there. I tested/installed scripts new, but as the game situations are saved, I always have this problem now.

So; One thing to say, its not a problem of EAX or your scripts.

it sounds like something is creatin alot of ships for some reason, u could try and look what scripts are running on them to c what scripts actually created them.

althou it might not be possible to tell

Where the hell is that bloody uninstall script?
It doesn't seem to be included in the package. Anyway uninstall isn't available, and yes I was using Script Manager to install/remove it.

well i just checked the package, and it does contrain the uninstall scripts, where are you checking for them ?

they wont be in the scripts directory, they are only put them when u uninstall it

That's strange, anyway below are some steps I took in order to locate uninstall script:
1. by using Script Manager (ver. 1.75), Menu: Advanced->View Scripts->Uninstall Files; nope there's no uninstall scripts for adv jd.
2. by using extract option of your script manager; nope, no uninstall script.
3. by trying "Remove Script Files" -> not working, files removed, no uninstall script in Script editor. Four products (ReadText**** blah blah), left after script removal.

Any ideas? I've been using latest script available (1.40 - 08/08/2006).

Can i install the Adv jumpdrive in other ships and have it so my major ships (such as a mamy) dont have to worry about fuel?

galatei, when you extract or or install the scripts, the uninstall scripts are planned in a seperate directory, the uninstall directoy, if thats not there, then its likly the package you have doesn't contain any unisntall scripts.. Have u tryed downloading the latest and check if that contains any ?

u could also try open it in the script packager, that will display any uninstall scripts that are included.

Relief, if you have the addon, then any of ur ships that use jump scripts will use the advancaed jumpdrive instead.

it replaces the move.jump script with one that checks for the existence of the advanced jumpdrive.

This is prolly an easy question to answer (could prolly answer it myself if I looked), but I'm lazy. Is it possible to modify the position jump to be a "Gateless Jump-Dock at Station"?


It'd work like the normal jump/fly command, except you could have it choose a safe location to enter the sector, as close to the destination as possible.


Just something I thought about last night. :)
