Thanks Beermachine for your nice words.

I dont catch exactly what are you trying to show me in the realspace mod screenshots Riky69. In my opinion i need a more clear background, not so blurred or with huge quantity of stars, i want to see the ships more clearly. Playing the game you will forgot quickly about stars and focus your attention on structures. A more sense of deep its needed. I tried to accomplish this eliminating the mip maps from the star textures in this new version. Now the stars looks more brilliant and blinks delicately when you move your nose.
Now it seems than stars are far away, not painted in a sphere (my main concern). This needs a lot of balance work depending on your resolution and FOV but i think i got a good result.
Every sector has its own start texture, in fact you can see how the stars are coloured depending of the background to help to integrate all elements. But creating a star texture with a lot of details like different stars density clouds will bring to us a ugly repetition mess. A bland texture its needed.
A made this screenshot to show other details but you can see how my stars look (needs movement to get the final look):

Other details are the green darker lights for the Split ships and a new moon.

Habitable world (not the final version, the islands has been reworked):

That is exactly what realspace did ;) i agree with you for the clear background and i m sure you re doing an exellent job for the stars. you have my admiration ;)

the idea to set stations near the planet in uranus sector is great but i think the planet surface it is too bright for a planet

Connary, it looks simply awesome!!
Im starting a new game right now.

Best thing about your mod (for now, didnt see anything yet) ist the high resolution on background stars, they look much more like they were an eternity away from me now.
Please go on!

Dunno if you want suggestions and if that stuff is possible, but a few ideas:

 Make the background stars brighter, we re in space, vision should be clear.

 Moving rocks. Would be nice to have dangorous sectors where you get bombarded by asteroids.

:star: Shooting stars on planets.

:skull: Black hole suns. (Black sun/planet with rotating nebula/galaxy around it)

:?: (When you re done with the mod) please add a version with no smog and, even more importent for me, without those moving dust particles.
Right now Im using Mytharox' Empty space mod to get this, but Im not so sure if it is 100% compatible.

Whatever you do, many thanks from me for your work so far!!

Hi I absolutely LOVE this mod, but I am having a huge issue with the Operation Final Fury plot.

I have just finished the first mission, and now I have to go pick up the flight recorder of that idiot that dies setting up the minefield.

But when I jump in, everything in the sector dies instantly, me, the Kha'ak station, all the Kha'ak fighters...

I originally posted this issue in the spoilers section, but then people told me it was an issue with this mod that changes the position of the planet, killing everything in this sector.

I would really REALLY like to be able to do this campaign, and get the nice reward everyone has been going on about.

Any ideas on what to do??

Bianco - Do what dryjgar suggests (not tested myself as I downloaded a fixed copy).

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... &start=435

Edited additional - Personally I much prefer Connary's to those realspace pictures, while that amount of brightness and star density may look good in a screenshot I can imagine having your eyes constantly being bombarded by that level in every sector for extended periods of time would become very repetitive (only supposition as I havn't tested realspace).

To the maker of this mod:

Although this mod is about 50% of the reason why Ive gotten a new found love for this game...

don't you think you should at least put a disclaimer that people need to fix the issue with the Xenon sector 841 (the one that starts in 8 not sure about exact number) before they start a new game?

It seems like just a little note would save a lot of people having to restart all over again once they got to that mission in OFF plot. Especially since one person might go do the OFF plot right away, and another may get to it after doing a bunch of other stuff.

Anyway, just a thought.

Thanks for the amazing mod, but please put a small disclaimer and how to fix it by linking to what the other users showed me.

Awesome fog version there. At least it's not the random fluff fogs of Vanilla X3TC :)

Just wondering could you do an eclipsed fog sector? Something like those Eclipsed Xenon sectors you did, so it has a very dark and foreboding look to them...

I've just discovered this mod and can't work out how functional it is, I'm planning a restart soon and wanted to know if it is in a playable state. The back grounds look gorgeous and I would love to give it a go.

Reading the first page you said entering some sectors cause a bit of a melt down!

Cheers

You have to go back a few pages in this thread and get a fix. If you warp to Khaak Sector 931(I think), you along with everything else there, will be destroyed by an oversized asteroid placed smack in the middle of the sector. but it's easily fixed by getting the mod, then the fix, and starting a new game.

It looks like EVE ONLINE but without the 100+ euros of subscription lol

Anyway your work is impressive, i think you should add this mod to the moddb site

EDIT: is it an engine flare that i see in the second screenshot?! will you include this improvement in your mod?

I'm not quite sure how connary keeps pulling these astonishing galactic bunnies from his hat but EGOSOFT probably need to give him a job.

*Can't stop drooling*

Do you need any testers, Connary? I would love to participate in testing the new version if you do ^_^
