If I start an XRM:AP game now, will i have to restart a new game after applying any fixes that are due in the next few days?

All this damned talk of XRM:AP is making me wanna play it! :(

Also, I've copied the steam folder to a separate location and made 3 copies, dvdified the games, and run unsteamed for TC. AP has to use steam so is there a work-around like TC for this? Or should I just install to the Steam folder and if all goes wrong replace with the backup and try again?

Yep.

@Paul

Can't find a Jumpdrive available for purchase in Terran space... am I looking in the wrong place? (Saturn Research Station doesn't have it).

nap-rz why on earth did you even choose that start, cnsidering the backstory is you are on the run from the terran authorities if you main goal in the game is to be m8s with the usc and atf. personnaly i would just pick a terran start and be done with it if you have no intention of using cheat scripts.
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

I think Paul and Muzuchi will need to make some new starts for XRM:AP and remove a few of the old ones. However, bugstomping will likely take priority for a while before it gets looked at.

well I was looking for some challenge, and the game description said it's challenging

again btw... where's Trading MK3 software on terran space? and Stock Exchange?

and I'm surprised that all sol use ugly jumpgates, is that from XRM or IE?

the USC need these capitals badly

The XRM:AP release is very beta at the moment. It needs more testing before all the bugs are ironed out. I suggest you adjust the ATF notoriety with the cheat package, or start again. Note: The bugs do not make XRM:AP unplayable.

Fly around a bit. I found a Stock Exchange in Mars. However, there is no Trade Mk3 Software available for purchase in terran space. Paul will need to add that.

That gate model is used in the Aldrin Plot where you reconnect Aldrin to Earth via Neptune. It is a vanilla X3:TC model.

They will. Just have some patience; the bugs will probably take first priority over adding new eye candy.

i hope that paul keeps the original Kyoto or releases the other model as an optional downlode tbh, i think it still stays true to the terren style but is different and adds a new flavor on terren design

It'll be up to Paul. However, if he replaces the Kyoto it wouldn't be too difficult switching the model for the kyoto back to the vanilla one. You'll, of course, need X Editor 2 though to do it.

Why is it that Terran space has jump gates in it in AP, anyways? I know they were added in TC because otherwise you couldn't jump into Terran space and that's really annoying, but in AP there are jump beacons, and keeping the TOAs would preserve the game's lore a bit.

I'll assume the stats on the new TS variants are going to be tweaked soon?

Currently the new Baldric Sentinel (400MJ) has -less- shields than the base Baldric(600MJ). Not to speak of the Superfreighter (1 GJ) variant. :o

Anyone try Phanoncorp with XRM AP yet? Last I heard it was problematic with vanilla AP so I am sure this carried over? Maybe......

:o 3 millions for a trade mk3... wow... talking about expensive... isn't XRM a bit too harsh for trading play style?

I mean at my level (I've only played for 8 hours) I could get 300k-1M combat missions that popped up in many sectors and relatively easy to do even with starting ship and weapons... while setting up a sector trader will need me to break my bank for about what... close to 10 millions? due to npc bails I could snatched some freighters but my point stand still...

it's too harsh or expensive for trading play style compared to combat play style

and oh I don't see ATF Bragi sold on ATF HQ....

@morikaane
already done that cheat lol...

wait, CMIIW, do sector traders need MK3?
where's CAGs software btw? I apologize if it is there already because I'm not sure I've seen it lol...

report, right now the terran wipe the floor against argon... it's not fair btw that terrans can have 2 fleet (USC and ATF) attacking argon while argon only have, well... argon fleet...

according to the official story, terran space should be attacked by massive AGI fleet, thus the ATF are busy with them... but I haven't seen any massive Xenon attack on sol... instead they aggressively attacked sectors neighbouring their sectors...

AGI are destroyed before AP begins (AFAIK since they say that terrans attacked CW after they dealt with drones)

Stock Sector Traders do need the MK3.

Use Lucike's EST if you want to get around that. For those, MK3 makes them configure automatically, but you can use them to good effect without it, and they gain experience and act intelligently about hostiles then, too.

It's not just harsh for traders. Upgrading of ships, for example, and many of standard equipment /software is substantially more expensive then in vanilla. There are other changes, you'll pick up.

ENHANCED EQUIPMENT DOCKS: THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH THE LATEST EED RELEASE V2.7-2.2. Install base EED mod to the lowest cat/dat number then XRM. You must install the scripts from EED, but DO NOT install the text file for the "t" folder. I have included an edited text file for EED in the main SRM mod.
You mean the 2 files named "9400-L044" and "9400-L049" ?
I searched but couldn't find a detailed answer for this.

Just spent the past few hours floating around terran space.

Kill missions and convoy guard missions are the only ones that spawn, so they're still borked. :|

Civilian ships/taxis - safe to remove?

I usually remove these completely from my game because the only thing they add is... well... lag.
But here you mention in the first post that even civilians have improved jobs - so before I nuke them all: they are not really needed for anything special in XRM now?
