Yes I did install it in the TC addon folder and ran the plugin manager before starting. I only have NPC Bailing addon, marine repairs and salvage command suite and salvage commands.

i renamed the Cat/Dat files that belong to XRM to 3 and 4 aswell.

Whats going on??
The readtext can be caused by one of two things:

1. The text file not being loaded - Check you have xrminst.xml in your addins\director folder.

2. The game can't see the text file, which means part 2 is not installed correctly.

So I'm playing the OTAS Operative start in TC and still using the supplied M6. I have a USC Orbital HQ in Avarice and have a small problem. When I dock in my lovely M6 everything is great.... then i go to undock and the doors to the hangar close on me and cause me to go booooom!

If I undock in a M5 and remote undock the M6, it's ok. But in cockpit it is not a happy bunny.

Oh and I found out the hard way.... set up the HQ, docked a ton of ships, unloaded them, set the HQ up, did some remote fleet management, undocked, died.... and hadn't saved. I was cursing the walls, monitor, curtains, oxygen.... everything haha
That model needs an external dock put on it. M6s don't fit in the internal dock and wont dock to the cap ship docks.

Ok, bit of a shame because there are terran stations with that docking issue as well. Causes an issue if you pick up a mission and can't dock, although, if you have JD and fuel you can quick brake and jump out but I was caught with no fuel last night.

I'll remember to undock in the guppy I have stored at HQ from now on then.

You should be able to use the "autopilok" to fly you out without blowing up. 'cause I remember docking to a Terran station with that ship and blowing up... and then I reloaded and used the "autopilok" to take me out - worked like a charm.

Hey Paul i just checked in my add-ons director folder i have XRMINST.XML and OBS.XML. I definitely installed part 2 as I just checked the scripts folder and I see XRM scripts in there.

Due to the complexity of this release and the fact that it is essentially two versions in one, I strongly suggest that you BACKUP!! not only your saves, but also your current cat/dat configuration, just in case I have made one almighty $%*!-up...
Does it mean that my cat'n'dat dat files gonna shuffle ?

BTW I'm the only TC-XRM user here? Did everyone go to AP version ?

Not everyone ;) I don't have AP yet, what's the point getting one while I'm in the middle of XRM.TC and will play for few months more probably? But even if I did have it... well I'm an old, grumpy dog and experience has taught me a) never to hurry and b) let others test out v 1.0 of ....everything, first. For a few months when AP will be in version 1.3 and our busy bee Paul would be issuing XRM.AP v 1.19 .... then timing will be perfect (not to mention AP will be like half priced ;)

I think the same way! I'm going to wait till patch 2.0 comes out then I'll see if it's worthy.

Incidentally: "I survived the Dragon Incident" is a greater plot than "Tourus blows up via use of magic."

Had to be said. 8)

It's definetly worthy, even now ... but ... there are small irritating things that will with time be polished out. Then it will be perfect.

You know what, for worse, I seriously doubt rebirth can top egosoft previous creations. It will be awesome game, no doubt about it, but it will be more simple and probably more linear, sacrifices for more massive audience = more money. But for sheer volume and complexity of sandbox, X3AP (+XRM) is best planet earth has to offer. I don't mind, since I got X3TC I hardly playing anything else ... over a year now. And there is AP now then timelines then plenty of good stuff ppl creating every day with it. 10 years of gaming guaranteed ;)

EDIT:

Story is perhaps stupid, they needed to make "rational" explanation for Terrans to go berserk and to justify total war something serious should happen. But in this type of game story is for me at least, totally irrelevant. I would play X3 the same if it had story from Cinderella as background.

*shrug*

I'll try one of the scripts.

Thanks,

The best way to get Terran Marines is the Terran Marines download off the Terran Revitalisation Project....it's the best option out thier.

I dream of the day when we can buy USC marines and ATF commandos

That's what I'm using but I can't train them at the Terran Military Bases. I'm using Marine Training Manager for the time being.

After (real, not only poking around) playing for a couple of hours now I have to say I am surprised and impressed.
Great job with the jobs! :D

The only real "issue" I am still having is the overspeeding M6 class. I may eventually get used to that but atm it is still somewhat... irritating.
I really dont know what to do with corvettes now - piloting one by myself is ok but the AI handles the high speed combined with the low turning rate rather badly...

Something strange:
Spoiler
Show
I came across an awesome looking "Unknown" M6 that is using beam (or lasertower) weapons and was piloted and registered to Goner.
But it did not jump in the in-game database together with all other know ship types - is this a bug or intentional? And what ship model was that?

It's the Sargon. The ship is from X3:Reunion and is an unused model in X3:TC vanilla. Paul seriously pimped it and added it into the universe as an easter egg.

It can be boarded, ignored, or blown to pieces for giggles.

Since it was released like 30 hrs ago it's hardly a surprise :) yes there have been few bugs but many of them are dealt with already, and work is done constantly.
