strange, considering it acts as a fake patch and with many fake patches you can just remove them to install them. :(

Yes. Uninstalling IE requires a restart. (Every change to the x3_universe file does. Even when reverting to vanilla.)

Is it normal, that Paranid Prime looks like this? oO

I dropped the files to D:\Gespeicherte Spiele\Steam\SteamApps\common\x3 terran conflict\addon\mods and activated the mod in the Albion Prelude Launcher.

After that I renamend the files to 03.cat and 03.dat (the highest numbers) it still didn't work.

This mod does not work in AP. This mod is for TC only!

I've designed IEX to be both TC & AP compatible, it'll give you good access to the IE mod within AP plus it introduces a few new & extra backgrounds as well as new suns and planets. Although vanilla IE will work fine for TC it'll only work partially for AP as the map changes will not be included. You will however need to download and install vanilla IE as per the instructions in the OP of IEX.

Let me know if you have any problems with either. :) Click on the banner below for the IEX thread. The development of the IEX mod is ongoing as RL permits.

Yay, it is getting clearer! :D

I've started a new game with IE 1.1. If i now install IEX, do I have access to every feature, or do I have to restart again?

Edit: Okay, I have to restart again

Is it intended that some sectors looking completely different between IE and IEX? For example Red HQ: IE: smooth "milky" nebula, bright. IEX: Green, dark Nebula that looks like sandpaper oO

I dont want to offend you, I'm just wondering about some extreme changes.

My main problem is the fact, that my Albion Prelude looks nowhere like the screens in the IEX OP.

There are some changes between IE & IEX but I'm not sure what you mean by "Red HQ"? Which sector is this?

Any chance of a few screenshots of "Red HQ" and Albion Prelude? It sounds as if the mod. may not be installed correctly but I might be wrong.
The "new" Albion Prelude should look like this...

"red hq" is "the hole" - the german translation is quite odd sometimes.

Hey!

It is this sector: http://i.imgur.com/XnIOw.jpg

IE: http://i.imgur.com/q0hW4.jpg

IEX: http://i.imgur.com/ApDIV.jpg

With IEX, Albion Gamma (the one with the cracked planet) looks like your screen.

I burned everything down, installed everything fresh, IE as 03.cat and 03.dat, IEX as 04.cat and 04.dat to the addon folder + TC main folder, fresh start and now Red HQ looks like it should.

The IE version was better though...

The "IE" nebula form above for "The Hole" was in a previous version of IEX but due to the nature of the neighbouring backgrounds, the new green foggy one seemed to fit better highlighting a shared piece of Argon/Boron border space (ie. a transition between two distinct background types). Don't worry tho' there are two of the bright green ones you like just next door in Rolk's Fate & Atreus' Clouds. :) For IEX I wanted a greater range and continuity of backgrounds and so often there won't be too many of the same type together... even the real pretty ones.

Why didn't EGOSOFT name"The Hole" "Die Hohle" (?) in German or have it named "Red HQ" in English... why the difference? :? Answers on a postcard please.

"The Hole" means "Das Loch (Bohrloch, Bohrung)" in german ;)

Ah and thank you for your suggestions about the bright nebula, I really like the style!!

And thanks for your help :)

Will I really need to start a new game? I loaded an existing one - and it worked. No other mods installed btw.

You'll see much of what IE has within an existing game, but some of the planet/suns/nebula may be out of place... so a new gamestart is best. IE will give you some enhancement for AP as well as for TC but for AP you'll really need IEX (see below). IEX is a supplementary set of cat/dats that layers on top of IE for both TC/AP, but if you're happy with what you already have, great!
