Paul- Im having an issue in my current game where Terrain is invading Omicron Lyarae with an entire fleet of caps and support ships and ALL of the argon capitals in sector are just sitting there going 0 ms. When the terrain fighters gets in range the argon capitals start firing PPC all over but they aren't actually moving and seem to be stuck/frozen in place, and thus unable to engage the enemy.

I have installed the AP RRF fix called "XRM MODDED RRF" but they still are having the frozen in place issue. What could be wrong?

Maybe try running the RRF setup scripts...? not sure which ones they are though.... I changed mid-game (after realising how broken it was) and it just started working without issue.

@Paul

The Paranid Flagship Duke's Redemption says 'Paranid Flagship Proteus' instead (spoken by betty, but the name is correct for the ship).

Not really. All i could do is remove the G from the list of valid ships for missions. But then the G would never spawn. As the mission will pick random ships from the list, i think you'd have to be very unlucky to get four Gs.

(woo - 800 pages... 200 pages till the magic 1000 mark!)
you'll need to crank out those updates a bit faster to hit 1000 any time soon ;)
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

Or just incite a flame war about something stupid and trivial. That usually works.

HAY GUIZ I THINK IT ARE DUMB DAT BORON SHIPS R FILLED WIT WATER BECUZ OF REASONS AM I RITE??

So what happens when we hit 1000 pages? Are we made honorary Boron Princesses?

Mizuchi has writing talents, maaan you should rewrite original sector description written by Egosoft, some I mean most of them are really pathetic.

If that's too much...

Sector Matriarch's Thorn's (Split) is a missing a description. I already reported this issue to Paul.

Once you change sectors it will reload and sort itself out.

I use the cheat collection to destroy my starting ship, give myself 50000 credits only, and give myself a fully kitted out m5. I work up from there. I also give myself neutral rep with every single race, and by that I mean 1. But that's just how I like to start out.
I may be forced to bow to your hardcoreness. :P

Seriously though, Nostalgic Argon is the start that I like best. I'm also going to try the bankrupt assassin at some point as well.

Some of those starts above are fine in terms of concept...I just don't know that starting out with a fully kitted M6(which seems to be most of them) is that much of a challenge to get off the ground.
Nostalgic Argon gives you a Buster. There arent many starts that give you an m6.

are you playing TC? if yes then afaik you either have to cheat it in, or finish one of the standard plots (USC license uses the same slot as one of the plot wares)
Yes TC, thanks for that. Will just have to do a plot or two. Was not going to bother as the environment was very rich already and you seem to have access to a huge variety of ships etc that is likely to keep me busy for some time.

Another difficulty I have come across. I started with the Terran plot complete and have been flying around in a Vidar. Great ship with the modifications.

Anyway I was not happy with the larger sizes for the docking computer, military scanner so I lowered them to S using the X3 editor in order to fit on all ships. This worked O.K and I fitted a military scanner to my Vidar.

Played for a few hours and then wanted to fit out a Kestral to do some mapping etc and now find that the military scanner has reset to XXL. Checking the X3 editor shows the changes made are still in effect but the equipment docks have the larger sizes listed. What could be the cause of this?
There is no way for a ware to be different sizes in different places. It is set is TWareT only. If it has reverted to XXL, then the game is loading the original xrm TWareT rather than your modded version.

BTW - The military scanner has a huge range. It is not intended to be fitted on m6s. The Advanced Scanner is the XRM version of the Triplex.

That doesnt sound good. Is it happening in other sectors? Is it just one or two ships or lots? Do you have any other scripts installed?

Double check that you have copied all scripts from part 2.

There are, like, 213 of them. There is no way I'd spend my free time re-writing 213 descriptions.

It's missing it, but it's there. It's probably just been accidentally assigned to an adjacent empty sector.

If such a thing is planned or decided upon... it'd have to be a collective group effort. It's just too much for one person -- and not fair on Mizuchi.

I know I'd be excluded because if I wrote them they'd be like "Well this is an Argon sector. Xenon invaded it. Now its desolate and empty" :D :D

my "artistic" writing skills are awesome right?

Hmmmm? I didn't think you guys were aiming for fair from the sound of things.

Oh...I just thought of something since I never saw it mentioned. Do the bonus pack scripts work with XRM as well?

Fair -- what's that? Oh right, you were asking Paul and Mizuchi... :P (probably the same answer......... maybe.)

The bonus pack is seriously out of date. You're better off finding the threads from the original authors that made those scripts in the first place and downloading the latest versions.

The AP Bonus back is more up to date, yes?

A few hours into playing AP XRM, I am wondering why anyone would still be playing TC, of any flavour... AP/XRM has raised the bar considerably.

I think I might need to install an improved missile defence script though, as the concerted missile attacks are lethal now.

Now just one question; AP I thought had introduced some of the tank TS ships from XTC - Has this Mod taken them back out? - I don't see them in my encyclopedia... - I would really have liked to see them in... Before I was enlightened by XRM, I'd played XTC and they were my preferred player ship.

it still works though so if you are lazy (like me :D) you can still use it

they are in XRM they are just called differently, afaik they are all called sentinels (Mercury Sentinel, Baldric Sentinel and etc)

strange that you'd need to use this, I just use mosquito defense and manually set the turrets in custom configuration to top priority missiles (except for broadsides and front ofc) and have no problems with 1 or 2 M7M's

Also M8's M7M's are now great missile defense mechanisms in AP as they will launch mosquitoes using all their tubes and can intercept most of the incoming fire both on them and all of their escorts

Like Jumee, I'm too lazy to go hunting down other scripts and mods...so I'll stick with the Vanilla ones for AP.

I really am liking XRM though. It has actually pried me away from Skyrim for hours at a time. (And trust me...that takes some doing.)

Also noticed something else interesting. Transports that offer escort missions now sometimes come with their own fighter escort. Is that from XRM or was that put into AP? It's a great touch either way. It always seemed weird that transports would only hire on one merc for protection when their lives are on the line.
If you want a different perspective, stand on your head.
