I see. I've also noticed some purplish Split civilian ships that are basically Split TS's recolored to purple. One of my main hangups with Split ships and their buildings is they're all so dark that it's hard to see them in many sectors even with high gamma settings. I also don't like how "skinny" most of them are, but that's a different story. It's too bad because I really like most of their stats and configurations. Plus their shipyards and docks look really cool when you can actually see them. Ah well.

I could dig a purple Split Panther though.

Is it possible for me to remove the trails from missiles (without also removing them from ships)? I find they clutter up the screen in combat and detract from the ships and other weapon effects (which make quite the show). Besides, I have turrets, mosquitoes, and goblins for them anyway. I don't need to see them.

I would like to see a Hyperion Raider too, but that might be too much to ask for.

That said, take a look at the Harrier Explorer and Octopus Explorer ships - the guns are both on 1 side of the ship rather than one on each side.

XRM + "Corporation Troubles" - missing Frenk Stringer

Hi all -

Running XRM 1.30 latest, and have begun the "Corporation Troubles" mission.

Went to Elena's Fortune, but there's no Frenk Stringer there - no ship or station with a book icon, either.

Can someone clue me in to what's up here? Did he get edited out by mistake?

Funny that the most recent conversation somewhat relates to what I was just about to ask :P

I recently captured one of the Pirate Cerberus's, and noticed that if you respray them at the HQ, you can make the entire ship go back to it's "argon grey" styled color, but it will have black highlights, and keep the red lights. IMO it looks really awesome. How would one go about replicating that effect on a ship like the Carrack? Right now you can only modify the highlights and adjust how visible they are, is there a way to change it so the spray shop will adjust the entire ships color, rather then the highlights alone?

Grabbed an example of what I meant. The bottom Cerberus is the pirate one with it's saturation set to -256, and the top one is an argon cerberus

Unless things have changed since I've last kept up to date- there is no German version of this mod.
The worst part about deep-space exploration is listening to crappy radio stations from 930 years ago.

ok than i am missing a lot it seems... cuz iam not able to buy a normal " factory " on any kind of shipyard .. there are ONLY "weapon factorys " listed ......
erm anyone got any idea if this is correct ? or iam doing something wrong ?

edit : i cant even find any "trading" related ships ......

Mijati: the standard "Argon Shipyard" or "Boron Shipyard" are military shipyards and sell military ships/weapon stations.

You want to look for the Company shipyards, like "Jonferco Shipyard" or "Waverider HQ Shipyard" and these sell civilian stations and civilian ships.

so just to understand it right .....
an "race" ship yard sells military stuff, while a "company ship yard" sells "normal factorys" .....

and for example to get an ore mine into a sector arround argone prime, i have to search for a company ship yard ( means going arround through the half of the universe tro find it ), buy one.. sending my mammut back till the "start area" sector. ...and hoping, he wont get raped by xenon or pirates ?

@ mijati - Assuming your looking for argon stations, as you mentioned argon prime, I believe between "Red Light" and "Antigone Memorial" you should be able to find a good number of food factories, ore mines, ect. I don't remember which ones exactly, but I think you need to travel out to "Black Hole Sun" to get the Large cattle ranch, and maybe a few others.

Edit - And no, Racial shipyards will sell all kinds of factories, but it varies between sectors. I've only been to 2 company shipyards, and both only sold ships, not factories.

The easiest way to find out where a specific factory is sold is to use the in-game Encyclopaedia (press F, select Advanced then Encyclopedia). Select factories, then Argon, then find the factory you want and press enter. In the bottom part it will show which showrooms or shipyards sell this factory.

You can bind a key to open the Encyclopaedia, which makes it easier.

And you should really get a jumpdrive for your TL :-)

hmm the ingame ency, isent it the normal AP one.. or such stuff get automaticly changed in such mods ?


well yeah i have a TL and a jumpdrive while i start a fresh game as an argone trader :PPP

It is updated with all the stations you have discovered and is dynamic :thumb_up:

There are Jonferco Shipyards in Antigone Memorial and Red Light, which is right in the Argon main "rectangle". Each race area tends to have one around. It's not like the "Jonferco HQ", which is still in Albion--it's different

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the author(s) of this mod for the work they've put in.

In addition, I would appreciate some advice on how to improve my framerate because in populated sectors I am lagging like hell and I don't even have AA in the options and no SETA. I understand it's an antiquated engine and can't handle stuff even in my i7 3.2 Ghz, 16Gigs mem, Nvidia 660ti system, but when the xenon attack in their m1-2s with escorts in a core system the screen gets choppy and ruins my experience.

Is there a way to remove features that cause the lag like high poly ships, trails or even tone down the amount of ships in a system without breaking the mod?

I don't see why this would run like this while XTC 2.2 runs so smoothly.

ok i cheked again ALL sektors via cheat ...and there are toaly NO fabriks to buy for me.. exept military stuff...like weapons ......

i even checked the whole ency. and there are overall only normal infos about fabriks, but no infos where i can buy them .....


anyone can tell me now WHERE exactly i can buy for ex. an mining fabrik ?

and yes i did checked the "company" docks too .. there are no fabriks too

You need to be looking for SHOWROOMS. Jonferco Showroom, NMMC Showroom, etc.

But seriously, use the encyclopedia. If you see no factories there with all sectors visible, then you installed XRM wrong.
