Not entirely true; the BBC reported on it.

It's been reported on several times in (on?) the British media: alert, "self-sampling bias ahead" - the BBC website, as CBJ mentions, Radio 4 a few times, The Economist, and some broadsheets.

Equally, counter-demonstrations, in Germany, are now being reported on in the UK press.
I can't breathe.

@clakclak and other German forum members:

Just to make things clear, are these Pegida people against Muslims and Muslim culture in general or only against those immigrants who bring traditions and customs that are incompatible with a civilized society, like honour killings, fanaticism, enslavement of women, blowing up newspapers that they don't like etc?

Because if it's the latter, maybe they're not so unreasonable after all.

The problem with Pegida (for me other members here might see this different it is a political issue after all) is that you can't really say what they are on about. Many of them seem to simply be scared citizens that fear an extrem form of islam, what I can understand to a certain point, but there are also members (and they also make up a big part of pegida) that have a very strange world view. Lutz Bachmann one of their leaders for exarmple always is the first to scream that ciminal forgeiners should be deported.......the catch. He himself was already in prison for burglary and at one time even fleet from the german justice system to south africa. So he was a criminal hiding in a forgein country.....
What is also really strange is that they do not want to talk to german media, but are pretty open when giving interviews to poorly made up fake russia today reporter. But after all that you have to give it to Pegida that they demonstrate peacefully. Altough there are many reasons why I disagree with them.

The hardcore far, far right wing version of Pegida would be HogeSa. The people who spend their free time with beating up cops and make sweatshirts that read: "Auschwitz University 1941-1945"

Still the "Münster gegen Pegida" protest also called for more dialoge, between all involved groups, so it is not like it was a pure hate protest. In fact it seems to have been very peaceful and fair demonstration. (And btw please don't understand me wrong. I dislike radicale religious groups, not matter if it is salafists or others, but I feel that the people of Pegida are way to broad in their accusations against forgeiners.)

@All the others.

Thank you for providing links, yesterday I simply was not able to find them, I probably did not look hard enough. My bad I am sorry.

Bah, don't get excited about Pegida too much. If this winter would have been a bit harsher this movement would have stopped weeks ago. Only a few people with a history on the extreme right of the politcal spectrum and a lot just running with them to keep warm.

Dolphin commits suicide after trainer stops having sex with it
http://nypost.com/2014/06/10/the-dolphi ... h-a-human/

“It was just easier to incorporate that and let it happen. It was very precious, it was very gentle. Peter knew I was right there, Peter was right there … again it was sexual on his part, it was not sexual on mine — sensuous perhaps,” she said.
“It would just become part of what was going on, like an itch, just get rid of that, scratch it and we’ll be done and move on.”
After the experiment ended and the lab was closed, Peter was shipped back to Lilly’s lab in Miami and his health quickly deteriorated.
A few weeks later, Peter committed suicide, with veterinarian Andy Williamson ruling his cause of death a broken heart.

How did it commit "suicide?" Apparently, it made a conscious effort to "stop breathing" :

Neat. I hope it's not a ripoff RTS, though. It looks good, but the gameplay had better be good, too. I'm always hesitant when IPs get spinoff titles. (Though, AFAIK, the first Warhammer RTs games got good reviews.)

Incoming Rule 34....
windows 10 free to windows 7 and windows 8 users

The legacy OS community is always big. I guess that Microsoft is trying to address that issue. But, I never rush to upgrade to the newest OS. I always try to wait for the first version patch. Every new OS comes with its own compatibility problems and I don't want to have to update "everything" everytime a new OS comes out.

Still, this is a major move for them and I do welcome it. (But, I won't welcome Windows 10 until I see it's running well.)

Attractive though the idea of Windows 10 being a free upgrade is in principle, huge alarm bells start ringing for me when they start talking about it being a "unified platform" across different devices. Given recent experience with Skype, where this "unified" approach completely destroyed the application's usefulness as a tool for business on the PC in the name of bringing the PC version into line with its use as a means for friends and family to chat on their phones and tablets, I do not trust Microsoft not to continue repeating the mistakes they made with Windows 8.

It's great that it's getting easier, and cheaper, for people to use technology to communicate with one another and conduct their social lives, but some of us have to use that technology to work, and indeed to create the applications that those people use in their leisure time, and we also need to be able to work effectively on a PC to achieve that. Microsoft's design team seems to have forgotten, in their rush to catch up with Apple and Android, that they also have a large business user-base, many of whom still need, for example, to be able to make maximum use of the screen real-estate available to them and not have it taken over by acres of white-space and pretty but non-functional graphical fluff.

Yeah, so, rant over. For now.

Edit:

Too much ranting on my part. Short version - unless they get rid of all the bad stuff brought in in 8.1 I'm not going near it. I actually liked 7.
