So is there a point to the war?

I sided with the Terrans and we are MURDERING the Argon, but nothing changes.

The system beneath Heretics' End (Omycron Lyrea? .. no, Elysium Of Light? Well, you know..the one where their fleets usually clash) now has 5 terran capitals + tons of support craft.
They all circle an invulnerable ore mine and shoot at it endlessly. Argons send in a few ships, they get murdered (I even boarded their M2), the terrans get back to shooting stations forever. The war is not progressing.

Is this how it's supposed to be?

Besides that great job, I enjoy the mod.

Just one question: what does the dollar symbol besides some ships mean?
I wanted to look it up in the faq but since its down...

The dollar symbol beside a ship's name means a bounty has been posted for that ship.

XRM: Need help revert the Valhalla to the original TC/AP model

Hi all, looking for some help with the XRM mod. Currently the mod uses the Cadius model Valhalla but I much prefer the vanilla model Valhalla.

Is there any way to change the Valhalla back to the vanilla model without disabling XRM? I've tried my hand at using X3 Editor 2 but can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be much appreciated!!


Edited: Never mind! Apparently there was a file that I kept over looking while I was trying to edit the .dat file. In the second part of the XRM mod ((06.dat for me)) There was a 'Tships pre editing' file that I edited by copy and pasting the vanilla Valhalla Hauler from Tships in the 01.dat file.

Operation Loose End seems to be broken for me.

The Xperimental Shuttle wont land on the pirate base. he fought with a few pirate ships and a lasertower forever. So I took them out. But now he is just sits in space and does nothing and its impossible for me to finish that mission. Any way known to fix it?


I tried using a plot reseter but it didnt work.

Windows 10 purged my hard drive so I've had to return to 8.1. Obviously hundreds of hours of game play and my installation has been deleted.

Wasn't there an xrm installer someone made? Could someone link brother up?

I'm curious whether OWPs and/or lasertowers work OOS as gate defense. Google finds some conflicting answers about both vanilla and XRM on this.

Since they can't move into 'range' like normal ships, would they only fire if attacked first?

They work fine. One of my sources of income is lasertowers put at the Xenon gates in Black Hole Sun and Grand Exchange (with the help of Gazz' "Ring of Fire" script).

I don't remember seeing one. However, there is a detailed installation guide by paulwheeler and a video guide by InFlamesForEver posted on the first page of this thread. Following them step by step should make the installation of the XRM pretty easy. If you have questions, simply ask here.

OK cool. I've done it this way before I was just sure there was an installer. How's the 4k experience?

Following BlackArchon's reply to your last 4K-question, the experience is not very good, unless you have "a really big monitor or TV". ;)

Yes, but you need a really big monitor or TV for this. X3 doesn't scale the UI elements, and so they are really, really tiny if you are on a standard 28" monitor or similar.

So, I recently tried out XRM and for now I'm quite amazed by it. I really like the rebalancing that's been done, especially to the Xenon and Pirates, who now are actually troublesome. However, I do have a question: is it somehow possible to keep an enemy sector (Pirate sectors, for example) free from enemies? Even with multiple M6's + fighter escorts I constantly get Pirate raiding parties spawning in these sectors.

I don't know a way to stop ships from spawning. Maybe if you try a script like STO and take over a sector - but I haven't tested this. Hopefully someone here can give more insights on this?

Doesn't STO no longer work with XRM, due to its script checking for Trading Docks, while the purchaseable docks in XRM are all HQ-types, script-wise?

I'm curious too. There seem to be a bunch of sector takeover scripts but it sounds like some of them don't work, or don't actually prevent ships from spawning, and I'm not sure which if any works best with XRM.

I can always blast whatever comes through from enemy sectors but solving the problem for real would provide a nice goal to look forward to.
