Just confirming after a bit more fumbling around that I'm able to do missions reliably, and engage with NPCs on stations. I tested the multi-page functionality and it appeared to work as intended. It's been long enough since I played that I don't remember exactly what we can do and what we can't, but at least money semi-reliably flows in now.

I'm ignorant to the wealth of knowledge in this thread already shared to the OP.

I wanted to share one thing. AI. Sadly it's not there yet as it can't see.
Once it does my friend. I have a feeling it won't be just X4 that opens up to you.

This is a video explaining how AI was created in Minecraft to beat the game start to finish, and it would code tasks that it would do often and improve the efficiency of its code and how it's executed to find more efficient routes to finish. It can do far more than that. It can teach a player how it does things and instruct them the most efficient way to beat the game or do a thing. No the goal is not to have AI to play for you, but to be your eyes. I'm sure there's one dev already in deep thought, it can do more than that, I don't even remember everything it can do at the moment.

Hi there,

Just wanted to nudge this topic to see if any more work has been done on the mod. I know we were hoping to get support for shipyards and some other more complex aspects of gameplay.

Any progress in that regard?

I would say that, by looking at the Nexus, Kuertee is very much around and rolling out updates for his mods.

I spoke with him on the Discord about a month back and he did say he would work on updating this mod after 7.0 came out. Hopefully soon.

Hey guys! Yes, I'm still active and have not abandoned my Accessibility Features mod. :)

Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, but I feel the compelling urge to point out (again) that Kuertee has already released several updates to some of his mods on the nexus.
I am only saying it cause I know how dependent one can become on their use :)

Thx, Brinnie!

I've chatted with Oasis and Caplin many times in Discord and on this forum, and I just wanted to give them a wave. :)

The Accessibility Features (AF) mod is a bit more "special" compared to my other mods.

But now that updates to my other mods are out, I can return to the AF mod - but not until after my and DeadAir's mod, Kuda AI. (Sorry Oasis and Caplin.)

AF and Kuda are much more sensitive to game updates than my other mods - which are relatively more "stable".

Just as an update for the general community on this, apparently the current problem with the mod is that the Hotkey pipe server, which this mod and presumably others depend on, does not work with the newer versions of the game.

I'm a little frustrated, as I've been strongly craving a return to the series. I'm not sure what all we can do, but thought I would at least post here to express that there's still interest, at least from one blind pilot/station commander.

Ultimately of course exposure of more information without having to depend on OCR as a hack would probably be ideal. I also wonder how/if we might leverage the new AIs with vision capabilities somehow.

Still here, still excited for the possibilities.

Could you explain what the Hotkey pipe server does for you and what you'd need in order to replace its functionality? There are good reasons why it is no longer available, and we would need to explore alternative solutions to provide you with what you need.

As a side-note, since you last posted we have added a number of optional confirmation messages for various actions, many of which also include voice support. You might like to explore the Input Feedback Configuration in the Accessibility Settings menu, to find out what's available and whether it helps you with general gameplay.

As far as I am aware, kuertee used the pipe server to let us define a global hotkey in controls which could be used regardless of game context. It let me pull up the navigation computer whether I was on a ship, in a station or whatever.

I will definitely check out the added confirmations.

If there is a way to update the mod to work with V7.0+ I would love to know about it.

I'm not sure why that wouldn't be possible without his mod, but if it isn't then I will ask him to explain it in more detail and see whether we can find a way to provide something similar without the need for mods.

No, as I said, there are good reasons why it cannot be made to work with more recent versions.

I was referring to the accessibility mod, for the record. :-) I take your point. If there’s a way to update that support so I can play more comfortably I would love to know.
