China probably not and Iran currently is asking for rather than giving out.

However, I bet Kim will be able to sell something old from his stash with very hefty markup and 50% failure rate as a bonus :D

Ukraine expanded their bridgehead into Russia quite a bit and passed the last Russian defence line yesterday. Russia has neglected to defend it's territory and might have to reallocate a lot of it's troops. Putin or perhaps Putin's double (???) looked very off-kilter and dazed.

Really well done campaign so far. The strike on the Lipetsk-2 airfield alone looks like a huge success. :!:

Let's hope you are right. China's HQ-22 is most likely a relatively potent Anti-Air system and they have 130 of them. When it comes to shorter range systems, I'd assume China to have a very large amounts of those in varying quality. Something like a HQ16/17 can probably be very useful, hell even an older HQ-6 would probably provide a decent anti-air coverage against a lot of Ukraine's planes and larger drones.

This is something many asked back year ago. Lot of Russian operations had exposed logistical lines through russia. Even brief maneuvers to outflank russian forces operating in Ukraine through Russian territory could be very effective. Kremlin has basically neglected defense of their territory for ages.

On other hand expanding their combat lines has risks of its own since Ukraine has issues with its mobilization. First of all they mobilized 30+ cohort into the army sparing the normal 18-25 year old that are traditionally drafted into wars. And then they dragged their feet introducing new mobilization laws (which are rather watered out). Longer line = more soldiers need.
If they manage to force Kremlin to move their formations around, that is only partial win (and time limited one) unless they manage to capitalize by forcing offensive somewhere else in Ukraine.

One problem that might come up more frequently is that the U.S. and Ukraine have different goals: Ukraine wants to throw the Russian invaders back to Russia as soon as possible, while the U.S. wants to see Russia defeated and ruined, even if it takes longer.
“We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine,” Austin said at the news conference. “So it has already lost a lot of military capability. And a lot of its troops, quite frankly. And we want to see them not have the capability to very quickly reproduce that capability.”

Prigozhin showed how undefended Russia really is, you just start a Thunder Run and go for it.

Wow, I knew about these books, but I didn't knew they were state-sponsored (those are so bad that no sane goverment official would sponsor them):

At the end they even have Russian isekai to Mordor and siding with Orcs.

Slight Ukrainian incursion into Belgorod Oblast in Russia.

More air bases were hit.

Russia likely dragged some stuff under a cooling tower of the Zap nuclear power plant and lit it on fire in an attempt to rally people behind Russia. Cooling tower is made of steel and concrete. Doesn't burn.

Not sure that having an oily/sooty fire under/inside a cooling tower is such a good idea if you ever want it to actually cool stuff again. Probably lots of empty metal pipework (some embedded in concrete) around in there too that could be damaged if overheated by fire. Still, probably better that than any other explanation for the situation.

A meme, but funny:

2023: Russia has second best army in Ukraine
2024: Russia has second best army in Russia

Seems like there is more and more rumors about hiring retired F-16 pilots:

Ok that was one of the wildest fever dream videos I have seen in a long time.

Well, since for some reason Moscow military parade won't be...equipment rich anytime soon, here is something as replacement.

Polish military parade (with nice NATO participation from US, UK, Romania and Czechia):

Can't say I'm happy about Poland paroting this old bragging behaviour of "showing military might". To me, this is a relict of the past AND paroting countries who think this is needed (North Korea, Russia...) is anything but "cool" (in my eyes it is more like: embarassing). :gruebel:

Poland could find it's own way here without that. (more actions, less show)

It's not only countries with questionable renown that do military parades.
E.g. France, South Korea, Batlics and Romania are doing those as well.
Japan is doing one as well recently, albeit this one might still raise an eyebrow here and there.

Note that all above countries have...raised awerness about Russia.

You might be right that military parades were thing of the past...untill past try to break into present time :(
Especially in case of Poland, we didn't need military parades for decades...untill 2008 when Russia invaded Georgia.
Since then we organized them every year, bar one peak COVID year.
