Yeah Musk also instantly came out of the woodworks to demand Olaf Scholz resign immediately as a consequence of the attack.

So get this, Trump is now asking the courts to delay the TikTok ban in America.
President-elect Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Friday to pause the potential TikTok ban from going into effect until his administration can pursue a “political resolution” to the issue, the AP reports.

CNN: Trump’s request for a delay in implementing the ban puts him at odds with the Biden administration, which defended the law in its own brief Friday, warning of “grave” national security concerns about TikTok’s continued operation in the U.S.
Didn't he want a ban of this app at some point? So why he asking for a pause? unless there a conflict of interest here? and this sets a bad precedent, But with the highest court siding with Trump in a few matters, I could see the court lifting the ban. Then the country will have two presidents at once.

Edit

This could be the reason, helping a billionaire buddy who has a stake in TikTok

So yeah, not even president yet, but compromised already.

Something else to note, from an article that I came across. I had a deep feeling that WW III is coming, and well, it may have already started.
The sudden collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s despotic regime in Syria this weekend highlights the interconnectedness of a growing number of global conflicts, revealing a hard truth that most of us would rather not think about too deeply: World War III has already begun.
What we are beginning to see is an interconnectedness among conflicts as seemingly disparate as the war between Russia and Ukraine and the fight between Israel and Hamas the likes of which we have not seen since 1945. This trend is likely to continue and expand, drawing more countries and regions into the vortex.

Once Trump takes power, I can see things getting more desperate and downhill from here. Not read the article fully, but, it does raise some key points, and yes, a lot of conflicts are happening, and more are likely to follow.

Nothing new so far - extremists got into power before WWII because people enabled them out of their daily live fears. If I wouldn't know better I'd say people want war. But it's just good ol' incapability of most people to act foresighted.

Religion continues its retreat. The bigger they are, the longer it takes for them to fall (but fall they will):
In the late 1940s, nearly 80% of Americans said they belonged to a church, synagogue, mosque or temple, according to Gallup. Today, just 45% say the same, the analytics company noted, and only 32% say that they worship God in a house of prayer once a week.

[...]

Some of the oldest churches in the world have even turned into bars and nightclubs.

It's interesting how our viewpoint changes as we get more life experience. I'm incredibly skeptical of organized religion. You can believe in nature spirits or extraterrestrials for all I care, I have a problem when religions become structures that wield political power. People participating less in organized religion is good news.

Heads up, me maybe seeing another virus outbreak, this time, human metapneumovirus, it's currently spreading around north china. It has symptoms like cold and flu. China is being urged to pass along any info about this. While, there are doctors who are saying that the risk of a pandemic is low. Its hard to say. But it has been around for a while, unlike Covid. But no vaccines are available at this time.

Interesting on the timing of this. Lets hope there won't be another lockdown, but if this does spread, and starts doing some major damage, the dysfunctional America will again be a major target. But we should hopefully have learnt from last time, unlike their name is Trump.

CES 2025

Nvidia launching some new gpus. Quite a bit of the performance improvements are from the AI vs hardware. DLSS 4 for the new 50xx cards. Dlss might get some sharpening of details vs the blurring effect. Mulriframe generation for the 50xx series also. Skews the actual performance number by a lot. ~20% or lower gen/gen hardware improvement. Lower cards might get the slightly lower hardware improvement.

Amd named some gpus but didn't release specs or prices.

Intel says they will continue making discrete gpus and released some cpus.

Tariffs might increase tech prices and all these things are being released later than January 21, 2025.

That is just pure scare mongering, as there is no problems with this virus, most if not all of us have at one point or another actually already caught the virus so we all have some kind of immunity against it. About the only people that it effects are those with immune issues or some form of underlying health issue already. Plus it only appears in cold climates, so when warm weather comes around the virus dies off, so by the time it would have spread it's going away naturally, no pandemic. Right now here in the UK we have an issue with flu numbers and that is a greater threat.

This is also scare mongering, what it should say is Tariffs might increase America tech prices, because if the king of the Dumb Dumbs goes ahead with his insane Tariffs, those only effect America and maybe Canadians as they buy a lot of their tech From the US, but the rest of us will not be effected in the least.

I thought I would post this as a separate topic.

Spain and France has joined Britain and Germany to ask the Europe commission to open an investigation into Elon Musk, under the EU's digical service act. opening accusing him of spreading misinformation and interfering in EU politics.

I hope something is really done here, as this guy is poking his noise in places where it doesn't belong.

And below that article, plenty of others about Musk and his bullying and poking his noise in places where its not welcome. Even the French prime minster is calling Musk out. So I really do help the EU commission will act, they have a duty to do so.

So only the government can spread misinformation? Remember, history never looks kindly on the censors. If someone or some group is harboring disagreement or hateful resentment, I would rather hear what they have to say, than have them saying it behind closed doors where they may plot something worse than words.

To hell with the EU's authoritarian overreach with content moderation and censorship. This is just another way to smash dissenting voices. Musk is poking his nose in exactly where it belongs, which is wherever in the world that he as a free human being chooses. Let people decide what kind of information they do and don't want to consume. Why? Because no human has the wisdom to dictate how all others must think.

No one should spread misinformation. And it's not the government that runs the media platforms.

This is all already possible, and has been well established without the need for hate, misinformation and fake news.

While governments should be held accountable for any misinformation that they spread, they clear;y aren't the only ones. Musk's platform is also responsible. and still, that doesn't give him the right to poke his nose in EU affairs. Its bad enough that he causing problems in America. But he should have zero say on what happens in EU affairs. He may have managed to worm himself into US politics over his BS and his visa status. But still, he should have no say on the rest of the world. And this is exactly what he doing.

just because he the world's richest man, he thinks he is so entitled on having a say and causing misinformation and chaos as a result. He already saying he can't find 2 trillion cut in spending, so he basically said BS there. How much more BS will be sprout before someone has enough of him?

It's really sad to read such an idocracy level of nonsense parroted with such a zeal. Guess the next country which will learn it's hard lesson about what can go wrong if worshipping single persons gets out of hand is the US. It's long overdue to crash hard.

I don't get what you are saying. Are you talking about Musk? Trump? In any case, there is no 'worshipping single persons' going on. Will the US 'crash hard'? Surely it will unless the race of so-called liberals to the top of Mt. Stupid is arrested.

That race has been over for some time now. With half of the new administration coming from the so-called 'liberal swamp', Mt. Stupid is their new headquarters.
