I'm waiting till Trump find out that his beloved Hungary buy oil and uranium from Russia, military equipment from Germany and virtually nothing from US.

As a pussy grabber, he is impressed by dominant males who lie and cheat to achieve their goals. They just aren't allowed to show dominance in HIS territory. "Der Leyen", the leader of the EU who is not elected by the people, and payrolled from USA, will be surprised when she has to go down to his knees. 8)

Btw: GER stocks RU Uranium up, to sell it to US backdoors (inofficial)

I am going out on a limb here, this will probably not be enough to get Russia to stop it's attack. I hope to be proven wrong though.
I was surprised too. I thought that there are already sanctions. I had no idea that USA buys significant amount from Russia.

Then again, Trump's number for trade inbalance between EU and USA was way off too. Where does he get his "facts"?

It does not. Total trade between two countries is bit over 2 billion dollars yearly (thereabout). For average joe it is lot of money - for international trade it (taking in consideration of the size of the countries and economies) it is pittance. It is just Trump performative politics for internal consumption.

It smacked of saying things for TV than actual impact; there's not *that* much left to sanction, is there?

It's more down to whether Putin thinks Trump can force through Ukraine giving up the east.
I mean, McCain pointed this out more than a decade ago.

The only complaint it seems Putin TV has on Trump is that he is all talk and little action.

Translating, all these good things were promised to benefit Russia, but none happened.

Still, I think Russians indeed expect for US to cut aid and help out taking Ukraine fully

Russians also think US can tell all EU states to back off, since US controls them. (a delusion that's important to the Russian world view)

Looks like that is happening: Rubio halts most foreign aid, including Ukraine assistance. Apparently, this affects undelivered assistance that Biden has already committed. It's still a bit unclear.

Cutting aid to Ukraine while continuing aid to Egypt is a bit mental. I mean we all know why they are doing it, but still.

Trump might not have stopped aid to Ukraine or at least NATO who distributes it to Ukraine is still supplying Ukraine. Might just be a delayed effect or not? Who knows?

Lots of more stuff blown up, etc...

Interesting remark from NATO chief Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Trump will probably continue to supply weapons to Ukraine if Europe (EU) will pay for them. “Der Leyen” can put billions aside...

not a long article on a view about 1TV, the main propaganda channel and direct source of Kremlin thoughts.

at this point I think the staff probably is made more of supporters of Russian fascism than average Russian. Though the further we go the less that difference is clear to me

Do people still remember Ukrainian tractors at the start of the war?

Now tractors seem to return on Russian side. There is more and more videos poping out wih russian...assault tractors.
By assault tractor, I mean your bog standard farming tractor with no changes or modification, used in frontline attacks.

Granted tractor has superior cross-country capabilities than golf cart, but long term this might impede russian farming industry.
This reminds me the history from 50s or 60s, where China commies had great idea, to melt steel/iron from farming tools for heavy industry use, but output steel was so low quality that it was useless.

Just wait until the big tractor brands find out about that "new market"... Maybe we can turn the war then into something "entertaining"* like tractor pulling. The winner takes the land where the competition was fought on.

if I remember the quality of the tractors in Russia correctly, they would be better off to return back to scooters

Who would have thought at the start of this thread back in 2021 that this thread would still be going now, with a 3 year long full scale war with largely static front lines, talking about Russia resorting to using tractors for front line assaults?

times changed indeed

4 years ago, I would think hard about examples of fascism in Russia, and probably wouldn't be able to have a definitive conclusion

20 years ago, it seemed Russia could go for some kind of freedom, commerce and democracy light.

now, you don't need to go past that day's broadcast of 1TV, or local news

The way things are going in the US, I feel it could be just a very few years before our constitutional liberties will be under serious threat, much more so than right now.

Ukraines getting drones that can carry 250 kg bombs. Refinery and other strikes becoming more common. Sea drones can now take down helicopters. Planes had issues with shooting them and helicopters had to be used so might be hard to destroy sea drones now.

Yep sure looks like it might be gone in the term yet. Don't need the second king Trump Jr for that.

One can always copy what Putin did

I thought these 250kg drones (modified Aeroprakt A22 airplanes) were a UKR development and it was used against a pumpstation near moskau, for Drushba, a pipeline, at the weekend. :gruebel:
