A Yale source said the US state department deleted the evidence which would have been used as part of rescue efforts to get the children home to Ukraine. It would also have been used to prosecute those behind their abductions

Hopefully there's an international court angle there. And other people have the copies of this, probably.

Starting having hard time calling myself an American in front of people.

Zelensky on X: "We believe that together with America, with President Trump, and under American leadership, lasting peace can be achieved this year."

If there is will on both sides, there can be found a way.

there's also this BBC article
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjevg23enggo
Not only did Moscow not agree to an unconditional ceasefire, President Putin set his own pre-conditions for peace.

They include an end to Western military aid to Kyiv and intelligence sharing with the Ukrainians, as well as a halt to mobilisation in Ukraine. Such conditions are widely viewed as a way of securing Ukraine's capitulation.

It's hard to see Kyiv agreeing to any of that

You do realize that everything he says about Trump is said because he is trying to keep on Trumps good book and hopefully America will keep supporting Ukraine. A lot of the things he says about Trump is the exact same thing Trump and his butt lickers are saying, he is not going to say Trump is an idiot that will never get a peace deal, if he did say something like that it would just infuriate Trump and nothing good would come out of that for him or Ukraine. Instead, watch his action and his interactions with others rather than what he says about Trump, there is a total difference between the two, believe it or not Zelenskyy is good at playing this game, Trump is not, which is why everyone is running circles around him.

That's just typical politician word salad, means absolutely nothing.

This is actually a pretty good analysis and explanation of what Trumps so-called Ukrainian peace deal is all about, I think he has pretty much hut it right on the head.

According to media reports China is considering sending peacekeepers to Ukraine, seeking to fill the leadership role as the worlds dominant superpower recently vacated by America. However I doubt this is going to go anywhere. Europe does not want it and I am somewhat certain neither does Russia. However it is a tactical jab at America‘s foreign policy, making it clear that China is willing to pick up whatever responsibility America is dropping. I wouldn’t be surprised if China also increases its international aid programs in the near future.

Edit: Responsibility is the wrong word here, as obviously America does not have a responsibility to send peacekeepers half way across the globe. Maybe ‚commitment‘ would be better?

Edit 2: In other news, the American special envoy to Russia Steve Witkoff said about the war criminal and dictator Vladimir Putin, that he is „not a bad person“. I wonder who Mister Witkoff would consider to be a „bad person“ if not Putin.

Another reason to end this war as soon as possible. Gunpowder. We are running out of it. China is the world's largest producer and exporter of cotton linters used for gunpowder production. A conflict with China over Taiwan would likely involve intense, prolonged high-volume firepower, and current depleted U.S. stockpiles would not last long. Europe is in the same boat.

Meanwhile, China has been significantly increasing its production and stockpiling of raw materials. This puts us all in a rather precarious situation - one that China is fully aware of.

I'm going to assume you mean gunpowder as a generic name for some form of propellant, rather than actual carbon/sulphur/potassium nitrate?
Otherwise, what on earth are they using it for?

Just had a brainfart: Russia should get UN-led government to organise elections.

Thoughts?

should we call it now, who sees US allying with Russia in order to defeat Ukraine in next 1-3 years? Lifting sanctions, helping with weapons?

The new, harsher non-deal seems like Trump/Vance bait for Ukraine to reject it, so they could blame Ukraine for failure.
It's the Oval office again, but in paper form.

Ukraine should seek alternative resource deal with EU or even China, simply to call Trump bluff.

I thought I had checked it like I normally do, but it looks like this time I hadn't, been fixed now.
