Montreal college(s) are cancelling student trips to US. Citing concerns and inability to provide safety for students from being detained and separated at the border. Noting that Canadian students represent a diverse group, while US is actively pressuring the same groups. All other universities are advised to do the same.

Canadian government softly reminded Canadians that if you must travel to US, follow all orders and don't argue. Be also prepared to hours long detention and giving out your phone.

Newspapers write that being critical of Trump is another reason to be detained, denied entry and returned home only after a couple of months at best.

A US lawyer detained by anti terrorist group in an attempt to intimidate.

IRS signed agreement to share info on undocumented immigrants, resulting in forced leaving of IRS management who didn't want to sign such a thing.

China raises their tariffs by 84% to 119%? Also bans about a dozen or so companies from China. Should be interesting which ones. No need to nationalize the companies I guess and take their stuff.

While tit for tat tariff drama has everyone's attention, I think average american should rather be worried about this:

He is preparing for 3rd term already.

Starting to look like States have to at some point in these four years decide if they want to be part of the fascist experiment. Who would like to remain actually free here?

Hes looking at a third term or ruling in the background through a puppet president.

Trumps already gotten rid of several watch dog things . He might have changed how things are reported like inflation numbers. No government data can be trusted just need to reason/watch things.

If he lose Tarrif Wars, he can kiss midterms goodbye before anybody can even think about 3rd term.

By the time you read this it may allready be outdated, but Trump just paused the tarrifs above 10% on all countries that did not retaliate, but increased the tarrif on China from 104% to 125%.

Bond market being targeted? Might be one reason trump stopped quickly?

China selling off USD? Might try to replace USD.

Even if companies move to the US the government still extorts money from them.

Tariffs against US going up in some countries. Some suppliers just raising prices instead of tariffs.

Japan Canada reinforce trade ties. Japan China and South Korea formed a trade pattnership?

Oil prices low. US is #1 supplier of oil. Should hurt russia also. Opec flooding oil market with US?

Insider trading done by Republicans? More robbing of the US citizens? Corrupt attorney general pam bondi not going to do anything? Pretty sure there's steps and rules on elected officials trading.

Snc one of the US defence suppliers targeted in Chinas list. China bans export of minerals etc... needed by US defence manufacturing.

Tsmc chip maker getting blackmailed into building factories in the US? Tsmc already has factories in the US. Can't staff them or find skilled labour. US military chips still produced in asian countries. US 4 nm process isn't the same?

Next round of extortion attempts likely to start in less than the 90 days.

Chinas advertising for allies.

Really? I find him to be rather transparent. The tariffs are a bump and dump scheme for Trump and his friends. You don't have to trust, just look at them gloating about the money they made from it.

That actually makes sense, drive stocks low by engaging in a pointless trade war, back off the tariffs to raise stock prices, sell, repeat. A con artist through and through.

This article poped into my feed

https://deanblundell.substack.com/p/car ... adas-quiet
if Trump went too far with tariffs, Canada wouldn’t just retaliate with duties on American cars or steel. It would start offloading those Treasury bonds. Not a fire sale—nothing so crude. A slow, steady bleed. A signal to the markets that the U.S. dollar’s perch wasn’t so secure
...
Canada wasn’t alone. Japan, holding over $1 trillion in U.S. debt, signed on and started to sell those US Treasury bonds which scared Trump shitless. Key EU countries—collectively sitting on another $1.5 trillion—nodded in agreement. This wasn’t a bluff.
...
The U.S. Treasury market is the backbone of the global economy. Foreign holders like Canada, Japan, and the EU keep it humming, financing everything from America’s military to its tax cuts. Start selling those bonds in unison, even gradually, and the yields spike. The dollar wobbles. Borrowing costs climb. Suddenly, Trump’s “beautiful” bond market—he bragged about it just yesterday—looks like a house of cards in a stiff breeze.
...
Trump’s spent years calling Canada a freeloader—remember his 2019 NATO jabs?—while ignoring the inconvenient truth. Canada’s $350 billion in U.S. debt isn’t charity. It’s a lifeline. Japan’s trillion-plus? Same deal. The EU’s pile? Ditto. These countries aren’t just buying bonds to be nice; they’re bankrolling the U.S. government. And when they threaten to pull the plug, even slowly, Washington listens.
And apparently Canada isnt negotiating till the elections.

I cant verify every statement, but if this is the case. Well there are some good news still in the world, arent there

Canada shouldn't do anything until after the election. Makes sense but seems to be bumping up the conservatives. Anti Carney propaganda seems to have gone in full spring. Lots of crazy nonsense. US obviously want a conservative government in.

SAVE voting rules illegally signed into law by trump. there's some voting law he illegally passed that might effect women who get married and change their last name. Can't remember which one.

Can skip the presenter talking/preachy he's gone a bit bonkers in my opinion but the information he presents is accurate. At 4:03 in the video corrupt trump attorney general pam bondi boasts about sending a tesla vandal to jail for at least 20 years or longer. 5:51 in the video Lutnick responds to insider trading by changing the subject.

So Musk has admitted that his cost cutting hasn't been that effective. especailly if he lowered still how much he has saved the government. Well, maybe now, he will decide to jump off a cliff and disappear from view. As he has made more of a mess then anything.
Musk Appears to Significantly Drop Cost-Cutting Target

“While stumping for Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, Elon Musk said he could cut $2 trillion from the federal budget. After Mr. Trump took office and placed Mr. Musk in charge of the budget-slashing so-called Department of Government Efficiency, Mr. Musk lowered that projection by half, to $1 trillion in the upcoming fiscal year,” the New York Times reports.

“In a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Mr. Musk appeared to set his group’s goal lower still.”

Said Musk: “I’m excited to announce that we anticipate savings in ’26 from reduction of waste and fraud by $150 billion.”

Elliot Morris: “Real federal spending is higher in 2025 so far than in past years, and DOGE is making it harder to raise revenue.”

So Trump admin are planning cuts to NASA, but wait for it, there is one voice that doesn't like that idea, can you guess who? if you said Musk, spot on. So after taking a chainsaw to many agencies, now, that the one he is interested in, is also for the chop, he gets annoyed.

But that says one thing, the writing is on the wall for him.

Call me skeptical but I think he will benefit from any cuts to NASA (which started taking place months ago) - first of all his reaction so far was "limited in action". Current boss of Nasa, Jared Isaacman, is also a investor in Space X so I am sure contracts that remain will be coming his way.

Granted - unless Trump cuts him all the way.
