[Resolved] How to complete "Another Gate Opened" Mission when all Zones are already discovered before mission start

I hope someone is still around here

I know there have been a lot of questions around the "Another Gate Opened" mission back in the days and almost always the solution was that someone missed a zone.

But... I have all three Cartographer Achievements for Torride, Cold Star, and Home of Light, proving that I have discovered all zones. But I already had them before the mission started.

So is it possible, that this is one of the last few bugs that never got fixed, or is the winning condition actually different from discovering all zones?

I want to say that in my current playthrough, I didn't receive it until I had at least seen every station in the zones to at least ??? status, but I can't be positive that's the trigger.

When you say you have the achievements, are they from a previous playthrough? Is it possible that you missed a zone or something in the current game?

If I didn't miscount, there should be 65 zones in total between the 3 systems.

Reading the actual script for the mission right now, it just requires you to have visited all the zones. The actual task is governed by `md.RML_Map_Space` and basically boils down to checking if every non-temporary zone in the area is known to the player faction, checked every time the Skunk changes zones outside of a highway.

Yes, I am positive that it is the current play-through.
On the steam forums, someone reported that the mission completed for them when visiting a special "Empty Zone" in Torride, which counts as a hidden 19th zone.
Others are speculating, that this is for the VR edition only...

Does the script check this globally when chaning any zone or for each system individually?

I have been to Cold Star, Torride, and Home of Light since the mission started, but I am not 100% sure if I have changed a Zone in HoL outside a highway. Maybe I'll just need to do that again to trigger a re-check for that system.

I don't believe just transiting the HoL loop via highway counts as discovery of the zone.

If you upload your save, I can probably check the mission progress, just to double-check that everything counts as discovered.

Thank you, the hint regarding the re-check of the winning condition was already exactly what I needed.

The mission was completed once I have forced a re-check of the condition in every system, including HoL.

So visiting every system personally again and doing a zone switch did the trick.

Update: I also believe that I had to re-visit all systems after being to Cold Star first, because this is a two-step mission and maybe the overall winning condition is only checked in the second step.

So TL;DR for everyone else who might come across this thread in the future: visit Cold Star first, then the other two again and it should work.
