Timelines DLC - Version 7.0, release. No extensions are active.
Upon selecting the first mission (the Race course as a female) in the Timelines menu, I promptly tried my very best to see if I could make it... break a little bit.
I marked the Stork flying around as Hostile and got shot to death by the turrets. The cinematic and game over sound played, but the scenario never ended. I was now stuck in the flaming wreckage of the ship, unable to access any menus, but still able to move the camera.
Video of the scene that resulted in it below:

Upon force quitting the game and re-entering the main menu, I transformed from a Female character to a Male character.
Restarting is no big deal, but it's a bit of a bummer.

I did exactly what you did, but my character remained female. Whatever caused it may be fixed in a future update. Can you try again in a future version?

I started Timelines, no mods active, on the 7.10 beta, did one scenario and had to stop from the previous day. Had a female timelines character.
When I restarted X4 today to continue Timelines, the character had been changed to male.
I changed nothing between shutting down yesterday and starting up today.

It's still working fine for me. Granted, I'm not waiting an entire day. I'll check back later and see what's going on. A caching issue perhaps? Though I don't have enough knowledge in that area to know if that could be the issue, or if it's even related.
Regardless, I'll see if anything changes on Monday.

It hasn't been a long term problem.. it was the one occurrence, but I had only completed the single node so I just restarted. It's been stable after that with no issues on the save, so .... computers and AI are wonderful?
I just had to report it because it was a similar enough issue to warrant it.

Thanks for the report.
Even if it's something little, reports are still appreciated.
So far, after checking today, my character is still female. I'm really not sure what could be causing it.

I've just had the same issue- from female to male after dying in the first mission. I Alt+F4'd on the mission select screen, as my lunch time was over and had to go back to work
How can I change back? I don't see any obvious things in the userdata.xml file.
EDIT: I've found it after resetting my Timelines... For those of you finding this thread from google, adding this to the "Documents\Egosoft\X4\#######\userdata.xml" file should do the trick, I think:

Code: Select all
