If you are not seeing corporation showrooms with factories for sale, then the XRM is either not installed correctly, or you have a mod conflict.mijati wrote:ok i cheked again ALL sektors via cheat ...and there are toaly NO fabriks to buy for me.. exept military stuff...like weapons ......
i even checked the whole ency. and there are overall only normal infos about fabriks, but no infos where i can buy them .....
anyone can tell me now WHERE exactly i can buy for ex. an mining fabrik ?
and yes i did checked the "company" docks too .. there are no fabriks too

Yeah, only thing I can think of would be the no station wrecks mod I have installed as well, but the shipyards themselves are there, and work properly, just named wrong for me. Not gonna lose sleep over it.paulwheeler wrote:Then the XRM is not installed correctly. You most likely have a mod conflict.unit757 wrote:@ hourheroyes
Those are Jonferco??? Weird, they just show up as "Federal Argon shipyard" to me... In that case though, ignore what I said.
Oh wait, I never got rid of that 00044 file, that'd be the only other thing. I'll go do that.

Also noticed that the ATF shipyard mod of the Terran Revitalization Proyect did that to my XRM installation. I removed that one and the Argon shipyards changed to the other proper stations, check that if you have it.
Also, Paul in case you didn't noticed, PSCO1 is back doing the cockpit mod. You may want to see the updates when they come.

It wont be the no wrecks mod and it wont be the 00044. If it was a text problem, then youd get a readtext error, so itll be another mod that alters "Tfactories". I suspect you're seeing Argon shipyards all over the universe - even in other race's sectors (that or you're seeing the vanilla map for some reason).unit757 wrote:Yeah, only thing I can think of would be the no station wrecks mod I have installed as well, but the shipyards themselves are there, and work properly, just named wrong for me. If that is the case, you will be missing a lot more of the XRM than just those missing shipyards. You will likely not see any factories added by the xrm - that will cause fundamental problems with the economy thay will only get worse over time.
As a rule, the XRM is not compatible with any mod that alters ships, fabs, weapons, missiles, the map etc. Unless stated in the compatibility notes section.

In that case I think I've found it then. I've also got bounce installed, which I forgot had a Tfactories file in it.
Sadly it's turned out to be a mod I consider crucial, considering how dumb the autopilot is. Is it possible to change the order, and have XRM come after bounce, and not have a problem, or does it need to be deleted?
And yes, there's argon shipyards all over the universe. I definitely know I've got the XRM map, because I may have violently taken over redemption
Edit - just changed the order, and started a new game. I now see the proper names for the shipyards.

Just read the argon war plot is disabled. I assume it would set it as complete as a requirement for the plots after it ( the HUB and HQ plots ) Ive been trying to trigger the HUB plot but have been unsuccessful. Is there something I have todo to trigger the main AP plot to be complete ?
I have fulfilled all the requirements for the HUB plot according to the help section on the main site.

Read the bounce op very carefully about what its cat/dat files are for. Every mod is different and you can't just install them without reading their instructions. The bounce cat/dat do not need to be, in fact they must not be, loaded except when generating a wall file.unit757 wrote:Sadly it's turned out to be a mod I consider crucial, considering how dumb the autopilot is. @unit757: For that matter, just read the huge letters at the beginning of the Bounce thread.

I can only think of 3 possibilities:
In order of increasing likelihood:
1. Neighbor's industrial strength electromagnet borked your hard drive data, but only the part related to loading XRM for this game.
2. Steam "might" have overwritten something if they had an update, though I haven't noticed one lately. I wouldn't though, as I'm using the nosteam.exe with a different directory for specifically this tiny possibility. This is one reason I suggested checking your installation very closely. No one else has mentioned such problems, though, so this is very doubtful.
3. You may have renamed or changed something and forgotten.
There is actually one other thing I can think of, but I'm not sure. I know the Plugin Manager can be finicky with cat/dat load orders. I don't use it anymore, but I seem to recall you had to open/close it before loading the game after installing a mod. Something like that. This is another reeason I said you should check your installation. The order you put cat/dats in is extremely important. Since I don't use the PM, I instead maintain a set of placeholder .txt files (named for the cat/dat number followed by mod title) in my \addon directory so I always know which one is which.
If none of those things are the issue, you're either cursed by God above, have some exotic problem with mods I've never heard of, or both. Hopefully you get it figured out. If not, keeping a vanilla backup of X3 is very handy for times like these, for quick reinstallation of your chosen set of mods.

That's not possible. Even if you install via DVD, the game has to be activated by Steam before you can play it. And all updates come through Steam. Unless you've got the Mac version.mijati wrote:erm the steam stuff.. i was reading something about, that it is better to use a nosteam.exe ......erm my AP game is not a steam version, its a DVD

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

I haven't played in ages, and I can't afford a JD yet, so I haven't been able to figure it out...
What's the definitive way to know the Advanced Universe mod is working?
Also, does the XRM backgrounds pack require a restart?
Thanks

The worst part about deep-space exploration is listening to crappy radio stations from 930 years ago.
