The Video is in German, but you all know what to look for.

The wharf is from the pioneers:

Still smaller and 2 times slower than Shuyaku Sentinel (44,400 m, speed - 86 / 2660 -travel). But it is good to hear that those abysmal characteristics might be not the final ones, i hope atleast.

I think I figured out Falx purpose:
Frigates have 100 missile hold, so with 4 guns and some drone fighters (12), Falx might be rather good bomber frigate.

You can go for 4x Heavy torpedo, if you want to save of missile reloading, go for 2x Heavy Torpedo + 2x Plasma (or that Terran beam that is like Boson Lance).

The Split have the fastest engines (and the only example of a Mk 4 engine, iirc). "Fragile Speedster."
It seems that the Terrans' hat is "shield tanking" (I think I saw they had a Mk 4 shield). "Mighty Glacier."
I don't remember what video about CoH I saw it in, so I may very well be wrong.
The Teladi are known for creating a standardized currency, ship insurance, and insurance fraud.

dholmstr wrote: Mon, 15. Mar 21, 10:45 I think the OP wants the old X3 terran mentality. Back then most fighters all were about 2-5 25M shields while terran always had a +1 slot for shields. The terrans were sturdy , not fast. All 25M shields from all factories were all 25M. Now however the shield itself is a component with own stats. While yes we, the players, can do combo every ship with everything the Factions don't. Thus a terran fighter will not have Split engines nor will the Split be driving Terran shields. Just play around and see what fits you. You like speed, well Split will gladly give you a run for your money. Just slap that Terran shield on it, you might live longer.
I want the ships itself to be on par - at least no worse than any other ships. Not the components. Ships. At least. But it is better to somehow show the advantage of Terans civilizations in development in the characteristics of their ships. Just a little bit. I told what i want completely clear, i think.
I didn't mean to offend you, sorry if it came out that way. Only that the old Terran ships weren't THAT much better than any other ship. Yes they had advantage for some stats here and there, but the main thing was that they could have guns than noone else had, like SSC and PSP. Now in X4 guns are all universal pretty much. Exclude the main batteries. And again they might beef them upp abit, but I don't think they'll be given them a gun or shield slot more at this point. I also wish for more power to them, but will it then be so that for the player the only ships one uses is the Terrans??

The Mk 4 engine is not the only one advantage ot the Split. They have the best ships in the game in all categories, maybe exept the L-Freighter. Cobra - the best frigate in the game, aside Mk4 engines - the fastest and the most armed; Rattlesnake - the best player- controlled destroyer in the game; Raptor - the best carrier in the game; Dragon - the fastest, the most armed, the most fun player - controlled corvette in the game; Chimera - fast, sturdy on the hull hp side, good-looking, second most armed (but mile ahead of the most armed one in other stats) - one of the best heavy fighters. Split has it all. The best engines and the best ships. And the Splits are one of the least advanced barbaric species. The Terrans got cool shield on a inferrior ships. The terrans - the most advanced civilization of them all.

Their engines and ships have advantages that aren't obvious from looking at the numbers.

The Terrans suppose to be "better heat management" factions, yet in all the preview videos I can see all their weapons overheat as good or more that other factions.

Is there some kind of "heat sink" stats applied to the ship? I thought the heat is assigned to the weapon, while cooling is per ship?
If yes, they why it's not in the encyclopedia? It's rather important stat.

Believe me, I, with you on the Springblossom. That is the only M6 ship I've had in X3 (didn't play that much). But calling Terrans "speedsters" based on two custom-faction (and, AFAIK, the Springblossom is in fact a slower combat-suitable variant of the unarmed exploration ship "Winterblossom") ships is not fair. In order to match their X3AP placement TER scouts would, IMO, need ~450 m/s, fighters somewhere between 250 and 350 m/s. Not as fast as Split or Paranid, but at least on par or slightly better then Argon. But THIS is an abomination! A so called "Heavy Fighter" (I believe, the heaviest the Protectorate has) with hull+shield approximately that of a Chimera, one less weapon and a whopping 180 m/s combat speed (compared to Chimera's 504 m/s)!!! The heck, even an Eclipse is better than this and will just circle around this bugger.

And the TER L freighter is a joke! Lighter (and lighter armored/armed) than a Sonra, slower than an Incarcatura! Do you hear that hissing sound? That's Teladi laughing their arses off!

What's the deal with TER engineers? I get it, their engines are garbage. Sh*t happens, I get it. But why put only one engine on the already overweight ship, like Asgard? If the TER ships need Split Mk4 engines just to be relatively relevant, then the TER engineers are imbeciles.

I was dissapointed by Terran freighter, but if you watched terran economy preview - their economy is much more advanced (less products types), so they don't need as big freighter as other races.

Albeit I'd love to have XL megafreighter.

Good, but that does not explain questionable decision to outfit heavy ships with only one engine. What other qualities can rectify the low speed situation? A travel mode being instant and uninterruptible? Are Terran ships equipped with jumpdrives like in "X: Rebirth"? Otherwise, a low speed is a low speed no matter how you put it, and I think the L freighter would have a hard time escaping a laser tower.

But speed is not everything. I like the Terran ships. They were unbalanced in the X3. That's why I never flew them. In the X4 they doesn't look like win button. And I guess that's what hurts those complaining so much.

Besides, little can be said about the speed of ships without comparing them with engines of other races. Maybe it's not a matter of ships but engines that have other advantages.

And they still are. They have decided which jumping gate to connect to. Looking at the numbers they have the best shields and weapons. The slower speed doesn't detract from their greatness, but it does balance their ships nicely.

It's like Hyperion and Springblossom. Some people appreciate speed, others shields and weapons. And still others want to have a good gameplay balance. Everyone will not be satisfied, someone will always expect something different. But if you want speed then there are Split ships, no one is taking them from you.

But the terran shields and weapons available to the any ship of any race. Why the terran ships are inferrior to barbarians ships? Or to argon ships? Or Paranid? The only one advantage right now is the components. Not the ships. Where is the technological superiority of the terrans? If you want to talk about balance...I can install the terran shields to the Paranid or Argom ships. And i will get the ship STRONGER and FASTER and as durable as the terran ship. Is it balance? Why the terran ships are inferior to the argon ships? Are the terrans tortured by conscience? And they broke their ships out of pity? Gave a head start? Brilliant terrans. The Hyperion and Springblossom...I cant make Springblossom more shielded or more armed. But i can do it in the X4 to get the best of both worlds. But only on commonwealth's ship, not the terran's...And i want to fly the terans ships, i want to like them - i love terrans since x3tc. But i cant do it now, because their ships are inferior to anyone else's ships.

Not so sure that they are. In one of the recent preview videos (think it was Captain Collins video on S & M ships) noticed that they've added a 4th 'high energy' category for weapon compatibility, which includes all the new Terran guns. Suspect this was done to ensure that such weapons can only be fitted to Terran ships.

By the same principle, you can insert Split engines into Terran ships and create a fast, strong and well-shielded vessel. Maybe not as fast as Split ships, but fast enough. And as I wrote, until you check the Terran ships with other engines, or other ships with Terran engines, you will not find out if it is the fault of the ships or the engines.

I don't like Terran. They are arrogant and they are hypocrites. But just because they are now well-balanced, Chcę latać na ich statkach. And I don't see them as inferior. But my fighting style is not based on speed. I wonder how a Protectorate or Pioneer heavy fighter will do against the Ares. And I am glad that the ships from the new DCL do not exceed the ships of the other races in everything.

I understand, this is my opinion. I think the Terran ships fit well into the universe. Fast and well-armed Split ships, well-armed and well-shielded Terran ships. Now only the Boron ships with good shields and speed, but weaker weapons are missing. For that we have to wait for Sushi DCL.

Argon ships are 2 times faster but have the same shields and weapons. Terran ships are inferrior to argon ships - they are 2 times slower.

If it will be the case with weapons and shields - than it is ok for terran ships to be slow. Exept Okinawa and other transport ships - if it is slow - it is useless.
