Install STARS
Install XRSGE 4.2.2
Install XRSGE_Boron
Replace ext_03.cat and ext_03.dat in extensions/ego_dlc_boron

Activate all 3 mods, STARS, XRSGE, XRSGE_Boron.
Start a new game (if it is the first time using XRSGE you have to start a new game, of course)

@Ziplock, I've read the mission and the thing works like this: before gate reopening, there are fake jobs to simulate local economy. After gate reopen, there is a 30 min delay before stations are placed and normal jobs are activated. If the bofu delivery is part of a mission I think this station has to be there from the beginning. Anyway check after the 30' delay.
To be sure, I have moved all boron jobs and stations in the XRSGE_boron mini-mod so that there is no misunderstanding between missions and jobs, which should not exist anyway since they have unique id's

Thx for your patience, when you say "install" is just placing the files in the extension folder right? Cause I don't see a installer un the files. If is just putting the files in extention folder then it's jot working for me for whatever reason. It's a shame I would love to enjoy your amazing work. Just for the record it is possible to do sanctuary of darkness mission with the big sistem? If so can you point me where to put the beacons? Idk how I ended with an outdated version of the mod when today is the first time I downloaded it and was from the same page you sent me

yes placing in the extensions folder and be sure it is activated in EXTENSIONS tab in the game screen.

OK I just starred a new game with just this 3 mods alone with the 4 dlc did everything you mentioned. Started a custom game to test it and the distance between gates in sanctuary of darkness is still like 1300km. Ate you sure you uploaded the last updated files in nexus page? Just trying to fix this. Running out of ideas. Gonna ask on reddit

I will upload XRSGE again, I've added some changes anyway so can update it. Just to be sure nothing was missing ;-)

Please replace both xrsge and xrsge_boron
Changes:
* new foggy regions, lighter and for better fps
* new backgrounds in some systems
* less ships and less stations in general
* moved all Boron ships and stations placement in the xrsge_boron
* replaced hazard region in Depths of Silence

Great! Then there must have been some error in the package and maps were not updated, maybe some old folder I had not deleted before packing. Sorry, I usually upload after hours of modding, errors can happen.
And thanks to report as a tester, it helped others too :-)

Just a heads up, as I figured that it might help.

There seems to have been a change in how ext and subst catalogs work from 5.10 to 6.00 based on the findings of a few modders on the Egosoft discord.
I had the issue of STARS not working with XRSGE unless it is completely unpacked for example, but I am not sure if this is the case for other people too.

This is what I got from an earlier conversation
there is something with the subst and ext cats working that's different between 5.1 and 6.0 definitely, we tested some mods that were packed that worked only after unpacking and some that only worked on when packing (the mod within a mod approach) very inconsistent stuff when patching dlc's or other mods, and the substs seemed to (even with <diffs>) just brute force overwrite the originals

so testing stuff just went a bit more complicated

some mission director scripts were not firing and jobs not registering without being packed, and then some textures would not be read from cat/dat packages - finicky stuff

How well NPC logic adapt to such huge maps, I mean XRSGE?
Do Xenons understand new directions of raids?
Do factions understand how to and where to expand?
How well resources(ores and gas) are distributed?

Yes, this all works fine. Just be prepared to have patience. Everything takes naturally WAY more time. Not just your own flying, but of course also the AI faction's activities.

As Newinger wrote, everything is well established in those comparts. I am doing adaptations and optimisations now.
I reduced some stations and ships at beginning because, incredibly, economy was too quick. To prevent fps drop and leave space to the player to add its traders and miners. Nothing will change except Boron sectors.

Btw here is new STARS mod

There are small but visible changes:
*redone galaxies in deep space
*redone big stars in order to make the constellation in Great Reef be coherent with the Boron story

Also I added a second version in loose files, in case you have some missing textures with the packed version

I am redoing all fogs, making them lighter and sometimes just a layer over the sun. I hate the lack of ambient occlusion in graphics. When you look at the sun the surrounding stars should disappear, instead they are even brighter. This subtle layer of fog create a nice haze around the sun corona that recreates a bit of occlusion.
I am redoing Boron fogs (and sectors) as I play, making them generally just a touch or removed

Thx For the Stars Update. Game looks better than ever. Just asking. Will this new game hotfix break anything in the mod? I see they changed come things in sanctuary of darkness.

Seema like sine main quests are broken? Doing the "Terran Pests" quest now. Once I got the Moreya ship "Geometric Owl" there is no way point in that mission. Is supposed that I have to go to terran territory but I don't find them yet and the quest only says "fly to" and nothing else. The last patch make some changes in that quest too, maybe got broken?

Probably, yes :evil: I am checking missions directories right now to see the update dates of the files. I did not expect Terran stories to break thou because there I could simply patch some parts of the missions, while Boron dlc requires to move the entire files so I have to copy and modify them again. I faced the "talk to the queen" part in boron story where no direction is given :(

OK then is good to know so I don't waste time looking for the direction I should go. As long as the changes ate save compatible I can wait. Gonna do other stuff in the mean time. Again thx for your hard work
