Just watched a little news, and really wish I hadn't. Am I reading the results to date wrong, or does it look like he's likely to win... Damn, I'd head off to Mars, but that's now allied with him too.

I'm seeing the same thing. 230 for Trump, 210 for Harris ... and it looks like he is in the lead in so many of the states where votes are still being tallied that I think he is going to win.

If he wins, I think he is going to be a lot more reckless this time. 4 years of Trump and 20 to 30 years of repairing the damage he will do.

The chosen one only needs a victory over Russia, although that was actually taken by the Ukraine war, and over China. The latter could happen with Taiwan or with economic sanctions. Well what to make of that? Hard to say. Ukraine is pretty done for and altough I rarely touch the conflict in the middle east, I think it is fair to say that the people who did not vote for Harris because they felt it was not compatible with their support for Palestine will have a rather rude awakening. Woman will also have a bad time, Trans people are done for and I am curious if this result will embolden the Supreme court to tackle the two next big things they have been eying up and commenting on in the past: gay and interracial marriage.

Here's the thing tho. The majority of the people that voted for that clown listen to him and Faux News, both known by any reasonable people to be nothing but BS spewing factories. These aren't reasonable people. They don't fact check, they don't question what they're told. They accept it on face value because it's what they want to hear.

Case in point, the whole nonsense about Haitians in Springfield, OH eating people's pets. That whole thing started as some idiots facebook post, JD Vance saw it and started claiming it as fact and the Orange one started repeating it. The Republican governor of Ohio said it's BS, stop claiming it. The mayor and other officials of Springfield all said it was BS. But they kept saying it anyway and their sycophants lapped it up (recall the bomb threats). JD Vance even admitted in an interview that it was BS but that didn't change anything because that interview was on CNN, not Faux News.

To say they're fooled into voting for him, I'd say that's fair, because they are fools, and that's the nicest thing that can be said about them.

We're assuming they consume and partake in media, full stop. We think all the negative news that *we* read and consume and go "OMG what on earth..." - they don't listen to it, don't care about it, it's not important - or worse, aren't remotely aware of it.

What's important to them is what their pockets show... and research appeared to show that the presidential debates historically (on TV) made no discernible impact upon the actual vote, implying they're not really doing anything. So it's not what they're basing their votes upon.

The democrats failed to identify what their voting public (or *more* of their voting public) really cared about. All sorts of ideological ideas are talked about, which is great... but that's not what the voters they *needed* to vote for them cared about.

Which is themselves; their wallet - and who damages it. Whether that's their perception of Govt or immigrants.

The next problem is, how will his businesses be ran? no doubt Trump will continue to have full access to them. His bitcoin and social media platforms will go through the roof and will make him a billionaire many times over. He will have the money to send attack dogs to do his bidding. The FBI will change and he will have exclusive control. I pity anyone who is in their sights.

My problem is, The GOP planned this, and Musk. How much of their trickery and treachery counts to Trump winning? How many will be fake votes like last time? how many will have voted twice and many many will not even be counted but an auto win for Trump? The house republicans set this in motion, so under a GOP emperor, nothing will get seen or recounted. No challenge unless its democrat controlled. The world has taken a very dark path, While I said previously that WW3 is possible, well, that possible will be extremely likely. Conflict with Russia will only intensify and the Middle East will also become a bloody blood bath. I knew this will come, now that Doom's Day Clock is only a few seconds to midnight. May mercy be on our souls.

I rather not see this, But now, sadly it very likely going to happen.

I'm thinking that his assassination attempts could have taken a key part in getting him to power? and the truth will never be known. The question then becomes is, will Trunp take another bullet and Vance takes over? (I know, but lets try and discus this with a pinch of salt, please) But I am starting to suspect this was also planned, and a change of leader might be on the cards. He gets in, but doesn't last long. then the 25th amendment kicks in. and we have a Trump 2.0. Again, This is a touchy subject, don't want to break any rules, but this is something I had a bad feeling about. So please, lets be careful here. Sorry mods, but this is a possible option. And for the GOP to have a new emperor with no clothes.

Honestly with only two important candidates one would assume that people at least try to know who is running. Democracy can't prevail like this.
